I've written three ficlets so far for
halfamoon:
Working on the SequelSupernatural; Jamie; pg; 100 words
Jamie's always loved horror movies.
ShutdownHomicide: Life on the Street; Kay Howard; pg; 320 words
"Is that all you got?"
The Mommy ProblemFriday Night Lights; Tami Taylor; spoilers through "I Can't"; pg; warning:
discussion of abortion; 378 words
Tami knows how to handle this.
and I have a couple other things in the works (though one is turning out longer than I expected, and I'm still a little shaky on the canon timeline, as it's been years since I read the books).
Have a poem that seems fitting:
What Do Women Want?
I want a red dress.
I want it flimsy and cheap,
I want it too tight, I want to wear it
until someone tears it off me.
I want it sleeveless and backless,
this dress, so no one has to guess
what's underneath. I want to walk down
the street past Thrifty's and the hardware store
with all those keys glittering in the window,
past Mr. and Mrs. Wong selling day-old
donuts in their café, past the Guerra brothers
slinging pigs from the truck and onto the dolly,
hoisting the slick snouts over their shoulders.
I want to walk like I'm the only
woman on earth and I can have my pick.
I want that red dress bad.
I want it to confirm
your worst fears about me,
to show you how little I care about you
or anything except what
I want. When I find it, I'll pull that garment
from its hanger like I'm choosing a body
to carry me into this world, through
the birth-cries and the love-cries too,
and I'll wear it like bones, like skin,
it'll be the goddamned
dress they bury me in.

I have to do an after-work thing tonight so I don't know if I'll be home in time for SPN, which given the givens, might be best - this way I can spoil myself to see how much bracing I will need to do. I'm already so behind! I won't get to The Good Wife or Psych or FNL until the weekend, and if I'm not home in time to catch SPN live, I will likely have to put Burn Notice off until then, as well. And I won't be home, so I will have to watch it all at the parents'.
My plan for this weekend is simple: sleep in; do taxes; watch Super Bowl. Possibly make cupcakes to take to Super Bowl party.
Hopefully we won't get much snow, so I won't have a hassle getting into work on Monday morning.
