oh let's just stop to adore

Went to the Bar Around the Corner with fleurdeleo last night. There was this obnoxious Penguins fan there, but she wouldn't let me punch him in the face for being a dick. Then we went to Ciao Bella for dessert, and our waiter, the Italian George Clooney (no lie, this guy totally looked like George), recommended the chocolate souffle with coconut gelato (though we made them switch it to vanilla, because I don't like coconut) and the orange creme brulee, so that's what we had. The creme brulee and the chocolate souffle were very good. The vanilla gelato had a weird, unexpected aftertaste I couldn't place and didn't like. And I had an iced cappuccino, which was a mistake, because I was up until 5 am (doing nothing useful, either. I started and scrapped a number of openings for a new story, but I can't quite figure out how to make it work. I will have to watch 5.04 again, I think. Oh, the hardship.).

Unfortunately, I woke up every hour on the hour for five hours after that, so I just got up instead of trying to sleep anymore, so I am really sleepy. But I think I figured the story thing out in the shower (love my shower crayons! love them!) so I am going to start again and see if it works.

I forgot to mention that on Thursday, since there was some kind of smoke condition at 77th St, I got off the 6 at 59th St and went to Bloomingdales, since I still had a little money on my gift card from two Christmases ago (I know!) and I knew Clinique was doing a giveaway. I got Long Last Glossware in rock violet and Full Potential Plump and Shine in voluptuous violet. Plus a lipliner in bon bon. I like both colors because they are very shiny and slightly purple but also pretty neutral.

The free gift contains raspberry glace (to replace my old tube, yay) and a different grape (this one is new to me) lipstick, plus I got an extra free tube of plum brandy, which is one of my favorite Clinique colors, along with some moisturizer and a couple of things I'll never use (eyeshadow and mascara, which I'll end up giving away, either to my niece or to fleurdeleo) and silver and green makeup bag. There was enough money left on the gift card to take care of one of the lip glosses, so it was all good, even if the cash register/terminal thing froze at the end of the transaction and there was some drama (if the other salesperson hadn't tried to bogart the machine from the lady who was checking me out, maybe there wouldn't have been a problem, I don't know. But I felt like telling her to step the fuck off. I didn't though. I am growing as a person.)

I haven't done retail therapy like that in a while, so it was nice. And lipstick makes me happy.

Now I am going to rewatch and try to write. And maybe eat something.
