So apparently even though Sprint offers Google apps for phones, my LG phone is not compatible? It keeps asking me for some kind of network access/permission, but I can't find any information about this in the google mobile help area, and the forum is full of people with LG phones also having similar difficulties ( Read more... )

Then I went to bed at 10:30 [!!!] and woke up every two hours until my alarm went off at 7:25.

Really? Your night sounds remarkably like mine. Of course mine also had winds knocking trees against my window and it being butt fuck cold, but over all, yes.

I didn't have any crazy noises. I think I was just anxious about getting up when the alarm went off, since I haven't had to get up early since I got laid off.

Ah, the "I must wake up to check and make sure I the power hasn't gone out/armageddon hasn't arrived/ or that my clock's not gone off, b/c of course it would pick today to break" sleepless night. Love those. [/sarcasm/

In this economy, businesses should be doing flips of excitement, because they can get wonderfully competent people who are totally overqualified to do jobs they normally would sneer at. Honestly, businesses that haven't figured that out? Are dumb as hell. Especially if they find out you've been laid off - that's the big clue of "Hey, they want a job and now."

*sigh* Then again, if a business is stupid that way, then you might not want to work for them.

I think they're just overwhelmed and a little spoiled for choice, you know? And they're worried that the overqualified people will just leave when the market finally recovers.

Just here to express commiseration. In the same boat, but with vastly less experience than you for this field, heh. Good luck.

It's rough. Though with less experience possibly you won't price yourself out of some jobs, which is what's happened to me.
