A long time ago, back the first time I mentioned the sekrit incest baby story, bexone said, I will bake you the cookies of your choice if you write that. FOR SERIOUS.

It only took me thirteen months, but I finally posted Full DisclosureToday, when I got home, there was a box waiting for me. I couldn't read who it was from, and I was like, "did I do ( Read more... )

that sam-i-am, sekrit incest baby, flove, tv: supernatural: episode-related, oh dean, you should totally write that

Sam is AWESOME with the girl, even after she's all disdainful of his rental car and his cheap suit. Oh Sammy, how are you so awesome?

He really was. I thought Lanie was pretty awesome too--nicely written, and the actress playing her did a great job.

if a little heavy-handed with the "people are connected but they're so alone" bit. Part of me wanted there to be some connection to the mytharc or to Mary's story, but since I've been missing the MOTW type eps, I can't complain.

It really carried over the theme of loneliness/isolation from last week's episode, which I found interesting. And I could hardly believe Sam got tied to a chair and forced to watch someone get stabbed in front of him two weeks in a row. I wonder if that's because of strike-jumbled episode ordering or whether they're actually building up to something?

Yeah, Lanie was almost like a throwback to season 1, where the people they helped actually seemed important, and not just cannon fodder.

Ooh, I didn't think of that. It's probably because of the strike, but I am willing to take it as a metaphor for his being unable to help Dean out of his deal. Hopefully the fact that this week he rescued himself is a good sign.

It seems a little heavy-handed even for SPN, doesn't it? But then again, one must never underestimate the anvilliciousness of a show that's willing to actually drop a piano on a lead character's head. ;-)

Argh, it just occurred to me it's even more blatant than that. Remember what the Morton House ghost did right after forcing Sam to watch someone die without being able to save them?

Yep, he told Sam the story of how he killed himself in despair because he was alone on his birthday.

Hopefully the fact that this week he rescued himself is a good sign.

Let's hope so!

Ahahahahahahaha!

Oh, show.

They really can't be that oblivious, right? So it HAS to be on purpose. Right?

Oh, I'd definitely say it was on purpose. I think "Ghostfacers" was full of deliberately-inserted meta details--everything from Ed's single imperfect emo tear when he declares his love for Corbett to the apparently innocuous things that spook the Ghostfacers while they're investigating the Morton house (so that we laugh at Ed and Corbett being scared by a branch, and Maggie being startled by her reflection in a mirror...but at the same time we recall previous episodes in which mirrors and branches-scraping-against-the-window have been legitimately terrifying).

You're probably right. I just am never sure with these guys. Sometimes the writers seem really on the ball and other times... not so much.
