I am full of pizza and sangria and tiramisu and THE SMUG SATISFACTION OF REMIX BEING OPEN.
Er, yes.
It was touch and go - on Thursday I was close to panicking (hence the mass draft of pinch hitters), but the stories all came in yesterday, and so after a lot of annoying admin stuff (making sure every participant who posted a story - excluding the pinch hitters - had a story; making sure every story had at least an original author and a remix author tag, since those are what we use to track stuff, changing the security level on every post to public), the archive is open.

Possibly Saturday and the first night of Passover wasn't the best timing, fb-wise, but I am sure these stories will have legs. And I reiterate once again how important it is to say something, even if it's "thanks for remixing one of my stories" to the person who remixed you. Most of us are waiting anxiously to see if our remixees liked what we did.
I wrote five stories this year, all of which bear my grubby fingerprints pretty prominently, I think. If you can guess any of them (all of them?), you will have earned the smug satisfaction and glee that comes of being right. (Obviously, if you betaed for me or otherwise held my hand/listened to me natter during writing, you are not allowed to play.)
Man, it'll be nice to write something without a deadline again.
I think updating my website will be my next task.
witchqueen has an interesting post on what a remix is and how to write one; while she and I don't necessarily start from the same place (which I think is more a function of semantics than anything), I think we arrive at the pretty much the same conclusion.
Before I went out, I watched this week's Office, and let me add to the chorus of OMG JIM! HOW ARE YOU SO AWESOME? *sigh* *draws pink sparkly hearts around Jim and Pam*
Lastly, thanks to the anonymouse for the shiny gold star in my userinfo. It put a smile on my face.
Man, I think I'm just going to flop down on the couch and stare into space for a while.
