First of all, I am deathly afraid of the Grinch. Seriously. To this day. I can't watch the special at all. I can barely read the book to my students. Wow. I admit, I still have that same reaction to Pinocchio. *shudders*

I don't think Baptists would christen a baby, though it's possible.

Sigh. I guess I will have to change my idea around. I'd rather not reference it all than get it wrong. Thanks!

I did a little research, and I think there are some Baptist congregations that would "christen" an infant, but not recognize it as "baptism." Baptism occurs only with immersion and around the age of thirteen or so at the earliest.

Some Baptist congregations have what they call a "dedication" versus a "christening." Since a christening essentially does what they feel baptism should later on, they instead will hold a ceremony where the parents pretty much dedicate themselves to raising the baby in a Christian home.

(I'm from Alabama. IS there a place with more Baptists? 'Cause, man, we are EAT UP with 'em.)
