a dreamer of pictures

I enjoyed watching Tom Glavine get his 300th win last night. I might possibly have enjoyed it slightly more if it had come against the Braves, but I'm glad he got it and they won, so it's all good. He can beat the Braves for win 301. *g*

I am making headway on my harlequin. It's about 7300 words now, so I'm guessing somewhere between 10-12K words total. I'm still dreading having to actually write a swordfight. Action scenes are not my forte. I'm also working on something else that is just depressing. I mean, I like the way the writing is going, but the story itself is kind of nihilistic and not my usual thing at all. I blame Madonna. This is what comes of being earwormed with "Secret" for days. I am aiming for noir, though, and that is how that works.

Currently, I am not planning on locking down any fic in this journal. penknife has a great post here that articulates why much more clearly and concisely than I could.

Going forward, it's likely I will post fic at IJ and post links to it here, especially as my site is blocked at work, though I will work on getting that up to date as well. But I love posting fic to a place where commenting is so easy and so accessible, where the culture encourages giving feedback, even if it's just to say, "I like this!"

I guess I'm not comfortable with f-locking any of it, because I don't have a clear line to draw, and the fact that something has to be reported to LJ to be investigated means I would have to anticipate not only what some random person might find objectionable (the relatively easy part), but what the LJ abuse team et al. might find actionable. Given the various non-answers LJ has provided since the original deletions at the end of May, I'd have to be a pretty accurate psychic to predict how those items might coincide. I think all my stories do in fact have artistic or literary merit, or I wouldn't be posting them. But there's no way to know for sure if 6A/LJ agrees. I can't think about it for too long, or I get angry again.

If my LJ were TOSsed, I would be exceptionally sad to lose all the lovely comments people have made over the years, because I don't, in fact, save those emails, but I have the stories on my website, which I suppose I should keep more up to date, and I have the comments in the backups of my LJ that I've made.

Anyway, that's my reasoning for now. And also because weeding out the stories to lock is a metric fuckton of work, and I am just that lazy. Speaking of which, again, I'm pretty tired of talking about this, so if I don't answer your comments, it's not you, it's me.
