I have the best co-mods ever on remix_redux. I will be saying that a lot in the coming weeks.

Today is the day where you panic and I laugh. (I don't start panicking until late next week, when I am still missing stories and my pinch hits aren't written yet.)Of course, this would all be ever so much easier if LJ were moving faster than a drunk slug in a ( Read more... )

The thing I am having a hard time figuring out is why so many people just do not seem to get the concept of tagging so that there is the category identifier: and then the specific, e.g., fandom: harry potter, character: remus lupin, character: sirius black, pairing: remus lupin/sirius black etc.

Not trying to be a wiseass, but it wasn't in the e-mail. I wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't checked the tags to see how other people were handling a punctuation issue. You might want to post a note to the lounge and make the example story public.

And IMDB usually has character last names if they are canon.

P.S. Is pairing: gen a kosher tag or not? I thought I saw it earlier, but now it has disappeared.

I deleted it. It's unnecessary imo.

There's that too. I wonder how many of us thought the category identifier was just meant to illustrate the tag we need and be replaced with the specific rather than followed by the specific? I mean, when the logic was explained, I went, "Oh, of course! That makes sense for a multi-fandom challenge." Prior to that, though, I wouldn't have thought of it, even as a multi-fandom writer (partly because I don't really use tags). Funny the blind spots we get.

Yes, this is what I thought.

I guess because it was clear in my head I expected it to be clear to everyone else. And I do tag that way tv: supernatural, comics: y the last man, etc...

No worries.

I think sending said email freed up my muse

Ain't that always the way?

But I did post it to both remixers_lounge and remixredux, along with the story template. I couldn't include it in the email because I hadn't decided yet at that time how it was going to work.

I keep tweaking at the headers and forgetting I'm a sockpuppet. zvi_likes_tv April 14 2007, 17:03:16 UTC
Oh! I dumped both the lounge and remixredux from my default filter when I gafiated, so I didn't see the supplementary instructions. I would still make the example post on remix_redux public. It will be right in parcticipants' faces while they're not logged in as the sockpuppets, which might get a few more people.

But when I was posting, I understood the e-mailed instructions as complete.

I don't think at this point that will help, but I will make it public.

Things change, which is why there is remixers_lounge and remixredux. Especially since this way of doing it was new this year.
