Ok, wikipedia says Alec's surname is McDowell, but this was shown in a scene that ended up edited out, so it's not onscreen canon.

Yeah, it was eventually going to be revealed as McDowell, but I think there's one iffy piece of onscreen canon (and it's written down, not spoken), and fans aren't 100% on it, so I'd leave it out. (Seeing "pairing: max guevara/alec" will look weird, though. /personal opinion)
