in the midst of those battles, he does not lose himself

I've been trying to figure out what to say about the season finale of Friday Night Lights. I'm just so overwhelmed with how good this show is, and how real, even when it's predictable and following the rules of television drama.

The balcony scene is SO AWESOME! COACH AND MRS. COACH! BABY! EEEEEEEE! When he just looks at her and says, "Look me in the eye and tell me that again." And then the way he kisses her... *swoon*

And that she's standing on his feet! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

*sniffle*

Mama Smash and Mama Coach! Awesome!

Grandma Saracen and the Collette women singing "Lady Marmalade" = AWESOME!

Tyra and Lyla, slowly warming to each other = Awesome!

Landry, doing the right thing, and picking Lyla up! Awesome!

Matt Saracen! Eeeeeee! SO MUCH LOVE!

Street! Rallying the team after the win!

Hell, even Buddy Garrity rose to the occasion with his congratulations to Eric.

And of course, the big moment for Eric:

Every man's going to lose a battle in his life. He's going to fight, and he's going to lose. But what makes him a man is in the midst of those battles, he does not lose himself. This battle is not over. So let's hear it one more time, together.

Clear eyes. Full hearts.

[and the players answer:] Can't lose!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

And lastly, and this is not a spoiler, hence it's outside the lj-cut: Kyle Chandler's hair = AWESOME!

And, a link from The AV Club at The Onion: Save This Show: Friday Night Lights
Is it wrong that I want to stab most of the commentators in the face?

Clear eyes! Full hearts! Can't lose!

Oh, NBC, please renew this show.
