Supernatural - A New World

Who: John Winchester - "Supernatural"
What: John reflects his life and the choices he's made, especially with his sons' futures.

There wasn't a second in John's life where he ever felt like he was abandoning his children, but he often thought about what good it would do his boys were with relatives other then with their father learning how to hunt. He still had a lot to learn himself and there was no point in dragging along your only offspring to go fight a battle that you had little experience in. He was protecting his children, and when the time came and they'd grown to become independent, strong hunters, then he'd take them out for their first kill.

Dean, always willing and more than eager to learn and to appease. Anything to protect his family, especially his little brother. But Sam, such a stubborn temper on him, always wanting to do other things and neglecting the task at hand. Always asking questions about where he went and why it took him so long to come home. If only Sam knew what he was doing for their family. A family that was once complete, but was sadly reduced to a third of the circle after an entity of unknown origin took his wife in a fiery blaze. Sam was too young to understand, and he planned to keep him in the dark for as long as possible, but Dean had seen enough and not only needed to be trained to protect the family, but wanted to know.

He was inexperienced in those first years of hunting, but with training and research, John would soon learn of the horrors that lurked in the corners, and how to rid the Earth of their presence. If it meant getting closer to the thing that killed his beloved, then John didn't care what was destroyed in his path. According to the stories, they all deserved to perish. Every last one of them. And god forbid if something awful should happen to his children then he could never forgive himself; never allow Mary to forgive him for what happened. They needed to learn, but most importantly, he needed to learn. His boys would shortly be informed of the things he'd come across and then train both mentally and physically so that nothing could ever strike them down. It was their only defense.
