Last night, Malachi finished up his
fridgedoor assignment- five ATC's!
First ones he ever did...it was a good
challenge for him! To view a pic of all
five cards & a bonus piece of his Asian
brushwork art-
I cracked up when I saw the "where's my keys? person in the top left
card! I think he was making fun of me!!! :-) I'm always losing my keys,
sunglasses, favorite brush, last brain cell etc.... The oriental one is
the "found in kitchen" theme. I had saved some Chinese containers for
collage and he snagged the pagoda and symbols from one of them. The
pink "robot" one was made from vintage satin ribbon. (Malachi says he's
a cyborg- NOT a robot!) The collage one is amazing! I LOVE the images
he picked out- very magical!!! :-) The one with the crying head in the
upper right is very expressive and raw- Wow! I'm embarassed to
say that he really captured the emotional intensity and weirdness
that's been going on in our household the last few days. Yikes!!! :-0
I
just LOVE the freedom and flow of Malachi's art. This one was done in
school. The teacher showed them Asian brushwork art and then had the
kids do some of their own. I love that Malachi painted the fish leaping
out of the water. It looks like they're transforming into flying fish
when they reach the air!( I remember creating an animation around his
age with the same theme- except for I took it one step further and the
fish evolved into colorful butterflies when they jumped out of the
water.) I'm sooooo proud of my little Picasso...He's always full of
wonderful surprises!!! :-)
