The Beast never went anywhere quietly. Staggering, bleeding, and burned, it slumped into the garage, and curled into a ball.

An innocent, horrified bystander looked on in shock. "What on earth--what on earth did you do to this car!?"

The Beast sputtered in agreement, and out of it stood a slim man with too neat features and a small, sheepish smile on his face. "Well, there were a few...obstacles."

"Obstacles or buildings?" The innocent, horrified mechanic knelt, running oil-stained fingers over the large, gaping tear in the side of The Beast's frame, branches and small woodland creatures sticking out of it.

Matthew, the driver of The Beast closed the door behind him, an awful, roaring creak resounding from it whenever he opened or closed the driver's side door. "A building or two."

The Beast finally slumped into a coma, the purr going dead. The mechanic, Andrew, shook his head, slapping his forehead and dragging his hand down his face. "I can't believe you'd cause so much damage to such a gorgeous car."

If The Beast was awake, it would have issued its thanks for the compliment.

"It wasn't my fault; you know how it is on the job. Things must get where they need to go when they need to get there," he said, fidgeting.

Andrew gave him a Look, and slipped underneath the depths of The Beast; it was up to him to get it looking like an unholy, gleaming terror again.

Matthew watched him, and went to sit on the other side of the garage. The product had been safe, barely, but he knew he was cutting it closer than ever. He'd barely survived, and the jury was still out on his Car.

He winced softly, feeling his clot break and fresh blood slowly seep down his side, and closed his eyes, willing himself to stay conscious. He had to make sure The Beast would be saved before he could even worry about going back out, or else he might as well just bleed out on the floor.

He felt his vision go fuzzy as The Beast roared into life.
