iBook initiation

I really started using the iBook today. I have an internet connection, have established my AIM account, and I've spent a good amount of time today just getting used to the system. Double-clicking has almost been expelled from my systematic habits. :-) I also put a lot of my CDs on the computer. Haven't yet hooked up my iPod to my system, so it's still empty. I don't really want that much classical music on it, since when I'm travelling I'd like to have music that I don't have to concentrate on playing. Can we say "Dance Party" in my airplane seat?

Speaking of airplanes, I have officially initiated my iBook into my world: I booked a ticket home for Thanksgiving. 3 days for $232 is quite good, I think, especially considering the haphazard route they're having me fly. Miami-Detroit-Grand Rapids, Mich.-Minneapolis-Moline just to get home!!! And coming back, it's Moline-Detroit-Houston-Miami. Those of you who know geography will figure out quickly that I will be crossing from Central to Eastern time, then reverting BACK to Central before heading to Miami. Whatever, though. I should be getting enough miles out of this whole scheme to shoot me over the threshold for a free ticket. Hmm...where to fly....

I didn't go to the concert tonight because of the weather. It was really gusty and the internet weather said it was going to rain. I'd already dealt with one rainstorm earlier, and didn't feel like running through another one in nicer clothes. So, I missed a percussion concert. Oh well. It was probably really good, but there will be a recording AND other percussion consort concerts in the future.
