Let me ensure that one thing is perfectly clear:
I do not expect everyone to love my significant others, lovers, or best friends as much as I do. However, I will not tolerate in my presence any disrespect of anyone falling into these categories. Nor will I tolerate such behavior towards my loved ones should I hear of it through word-of-mouth.
That means rudeness, insults, snark, passive-aggressive jibes, dirty looks, etc.
If any of my dear readers feels that it is too much to ask of them to not cross that line, then please take this opportunity to remove me from your friends list right now. Let's not waste each other's time or energy.
Needless to say I have, over the course of the past couple of years, removed people from my friends list, and my life in its entirety, for transgressing this boundary of common politeness.
(Of course, nobody on my friends list would behave in such a manner, so the point is moot, right? :P )
I try to live my life by being fair, and for the most part compassionately towards people in general, but this is one area in which I have absolutely no interest in walking the line. This is how it is, this is how I am, and I am perfectly happy with that.
