Made it to Boulder

Yep, I am now in the West. I have to admit that it is strange seeing mountains. Like tall mountains. I know we have mountains in NC, but they are 4+ hours away from me and they are little mountains with trees on them. Here they are tall and have snow on them.

The flight out here wasn't too bad, just kind of long. No, really long. 4 hours long. 4 hours of sitting there getting whacked by people going up and down the aisle. I did fall asleep more than a few times but couldn't really get any good sleep mostly because of the people walking down the aisle and the lady behind me kept rustling something.

I'm glad that I ate a good breakfast in the airport (Cinnabon, which wasn't nearly as good as I remember it being in the past and a biscuit) since we didn't really get fed on the plane unless you count a tiny packet of peanuts and some cheese crackers and a glass of soda food.

But I survived and found a McDonalds here and am now feeling much better.

A few observations about the Denver airport...I spent some time trying to find signs of the One World Conspiracy and couldn't find them. Turns out it's just the murals. Kind of ugly murals if you ask me. I was thinking there were symbols hidden in the paving on the floor and all that. Also, I'm not sure what's up with the weird white tent/minaret looking things on the outside. It's really odd looking from a distance and don't even get me started on the satanic looking blue bronco statue with the glowing red eyes that's all by itself as you drive away from the airport. the only sign I've seen of crunchy granolaness so far was the solar panel farm leaving the airport. Though I am sure that I will see many more signs as the weekend progresses.

Also, the Denver airport is out in the middle of nowhere. It was a nice long and boring drive to Boulder. No big thing there, no traffic either and I had to be careful and watch that I didn't speed since the temptation was really there.

The one bit of frustration is that the loaner laptop I got from work isn't connecting at all so it kind of makes it a big paperweight instead of being something that I was going to use to work on things. Sigh, I'll have to place a call tomorrow.

Ok, enough catch up. Now time to go hang with the baby bro and the lovely Kristin.
