Latest house update and fun Sat. stuff
Well, here I am sitting and waiting to get the word on if my written offer has been accepted. I got a verbal acceptance but now the house is being owned by a relocation company so the paperwork has to be redone and there are a few new clauses and things because of that.
So it's limbo time and kind of annoying. Once I find out that I have the house I need to get an inspection and also will start packing up all of my books. Lots and lots of books. At least I have access to lots of boxes through work in addition to all of the boxes I pilfered from the old job.
I'm also sitting around waiting to see if I can get in to the network to do some testing. I agreed to do it and now it's been delayed which is cutting into what I want to do with the rest of my day. Like going to Harris Teeter for triple coupon days. Not to mention getting into the shower. Now before you diss me, I've been doing house cleaning stuff all day. Ok, and catching up with my mail. Maybe more of catching up with the mail than actually cleaning.
Had a fun Friday. Met Thom for Friday Nights Uncorked at Southern Season. We had a fun time, though out of the five wines, I only liked 3 of them and only really, really liked 2 of them. But the company was good. I also ran into a guy who plays darts and he was jealous of my Ton80 since he hasn't hit one yet.
Since both Thom and I were craving steak after the wine, we went into Durham trying to find a nice grilled steak. Nothing really hit our fancy so we wound up going to the Brazilian Steakhouse (I don't remember it's name). It definitely satisfied the meat craving. I think I liked the flank and sirloin steak the best since they were nice and rare. Now that I've been to one, I don't feel the need to go back.
I have to say that I got a wee bit annoyed with Thom who thinks I need to move to Durham and go out all of the time. Just because he is a social butterfly doesn't mean that I am. And just because I am quirky and interesting doesn't necessarily mean I like to hang out with freaky types. But still it was a nice evening and the wine was well appreciated after my stressful day.
