I actually had a nice weekend. Friday went to the bank to open up that IRA of mine. Turns out that the guy opening my IRA, I taught in class and one of the tellers had me for class as well. They were all surprised that I had left RBC. But such is life. So it took no time to sign all the paperwork since the IRA had already been opened for me. I also took a look at a SDB since I probably should open one of those too.
When I was driving in for my appt. at the bank, got a call from Darrell inviting me to the Canes-Pens game. Well, not really inviting since he was charging me for the ticket. But since I hadn't yet gotten Jenn's bridal shower gift, I had to turn him down. And it turned out to be a game that we won. Oh well, I'm sure that was my only chance to go to a Canes game this year. I don't think we'll be making another run for the Cup this year.
So then I went out to search for a shower gift for Jenn. Managed to find what I wanted at Target and then a lot of other things just happened to fall into my cart. Evil Target! Hit up Wal-mart for a few more things and then back to the house for an evening of relaxing at home and also being disappointed that the hockey game wasn't on TV. Boo!
Saturday
Woke up and worked out a bit and then headed over to Alan & Janera's to ride with Janera to the shower which was in Thomasville. We only got lost once we got to Thomasville. I think the fact that we were looking at 2 different sets of directions might have had something to do with it. The shower was nice. The Raleigh contingent included me and Janera and Kaleigh and Monica. Met both of Jenn and Anthony's mothers and had a nice time in spite of playing silly shower games. (Note to self: If I ever get married I will not be playing those games). They pretty much got everything that they registered for. But now I think they will need to register for more things so that people have an idea of what to buy them for the wedding.
Had fun talking with Janera on the way there. She told me that it looks like vball will be happening since Ray's hasn't been sold yet and apparently there's another bar in the area talking about putting a sand court in and Jimmy is talking to them about moving the league there. I don't know what I would do without vball.
Once we got back to Morrisville, we drove through the complex looking for places for sale since I'm thinking of moving there. Turns out there's one for sale and it's way more than both Janera and Anthony paid for their townhouses. I also got the tour of Janera's place. The bedrooms are a bit smaller than I had thought they would be. But they aren't that small if you know what I mean. I guess the next step is finding out how much of a mortgage I can qualify for and find a buyer's agent. I really do want to be in a different place before the end of the year.
Then we all went out for dinner, invited Anthony along too. Had some beef, yummy and good conversation which is always a plus.
Sunday
Rehearsal, which is moving along, though I do get annoyed by the fact that people are still forgetting to bring notebook and pens to rehearsal. Started working on bits and people did a pretty good job with them too. It also kind of bugs me that there are some cast who won't do their bit but yet want to play a patron because "it's more fun". Silly people
fun with friends,
hockey,
volleyball,
