Mornings

Oct 01, 2009 07:45

Woke up at 6.30 and went out to our little backyard, which now contains many herbs in pots - thyme, oregano, coriander, curly and flat leaf parsley, basil, and Greek basil. There is a tomato plant that keeps on growing (this is its third season), and also a lemon tree in a large pot that hasn't shown any signs of fruit after a year, but perhaps we should wait another season.

The early light has been clear, which is very noticeable and appreciated after the red dust dawn last Wednesday, and is of course coming earlier as daylight savings approaches, so it was easier to get up at 5.45 yesterday to go to yoga. qamar came and joined our class, and the practice was even better shared with her. Our teacher has just returned from a workshop with Geeta Iyengar, the daughter of BKS Iyengar, and she was full of new ideas and advice and energy.
