making history, baby
so i was admiring mr zach gitlin's facebook profile today, perusing his groups, when i noticed this rather disturbing group. "Invite Your Friends to Make Genocide History in 2007". apparently it means "invite all your friends to join this group to END genocide in darfur (which would be a historic event)" and not "invite your friends over to my place so that i can PERFORM genocide on them all and make history." a common error, to be sure. although, to be fair, any genocide organized over facebook would certainly be textbook-worthy.
also, somehow i am whooping ass in my fantasy soccer league. 1st place out of 20 english 'mates' (lawls). i dont even know who half the players on my team are, but this guy named fabregas keeps getting me like 32 points a week (compared to about 4 for the average player). i feel like that girl that picks the ncaa bracket based on who has the cutest mascot and somehow wins every year. except that i had no such overriding logic behind my picks. my team is essentially all the players i have heard of that i could afford + the cheapest other players out there.
anyway, other than that, my life is pretty lame right now. class is ok. only having 4 classes is fun. waking up at 8am twice a week is not. i haven't done laundry in forever. beauty and the geek is sweet. pick up artist is not. i had a linguistics test today. i had to try to pronounce a "uvular nasal stop" and a "velar fricative". not very easy.
i made brownies the other day, and i have to say, they are probably the easiest thing ive ever made. you mix some powder with an egg, oil and water. then put it in the oven.
also, since i cook now, i want everyone to post their favorite recipe(s). i need to diversify my cheffing abillities.
