Quick update before work, because I feel like it.
I am now head mud-scraper. A while ago (on the 6th) I got promoted to Assistant Supervisor of the crew. That was a 50 cent raise. Tuesday our supervisor got let go. I think she got laid off. Anyway, so now our crew has no supervisor. Which means I am in charge. I am going to be getting the phone, talking to project managers, taking the blame when stuff goes wrong. There will be no raise for me. I can, and probably will, apply for the Supervisor position. I don't have any kind of high hopes, as I don't feel qualified, but if I don't apply, the I will always wonder. As the assistant supervisor, expectations will be lowered on our crew, so I won't catch full force fury when things go poorly.
So far I haven't been stressed out too much, as it has only been one full day without the sup, but I will probably get more stressed out later. The past two nights I have had work dreams, which sucks. I hate thinking and dreaming about work when I am not there. Not that I sleep on the job, but you get it. Anyway, time to put on my work clothes and get the heck out of the house.
