11 And God said: 'Let the earth put forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree bearing fruit after its kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth.' And it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
Here we come to the second half of the third day, and the fourth act of Witchcraft. This is the first time life is called forth, the first creation of life.
There are three categories of plants on this third day. There are grass, seed-bearing plants, and fruit-bearing plants. But for the seed and fruit-bearing plants, it is not the plant that is called forth; it's the seed and the fruit that the Earth brings forth. From these the plants grow. Imagine seeds and fruit coming forth from the Earth, not on any plant. These things are what provide nourishment, first for the sprouting plant, then for animals and humans later. The animals of the field eat the grass. We eat the seeds and fruit.
Notice also that the Earth brings forth the plants, not that the plants are created and put into the Earth. It's from the abundance of the Earth that we receive plants and the food and nourishment that they provide.
Three categories of plants on the third day. The third letter of the Hebrew Aleph-Beth is Gimel, the Camel. Gimel is mystically the rich man running after the poor man to give to him. The third day is about giving. First, we are given the Earth and the Seas, then plants to eat.
And, bringing forth the plants, it's still good.
