Sleepy Satyrday
Saytyrday went well, though I got little done, lazing around after staying up late on Friday.
As most everyone else has already blogged about the Princess' Party, I'll just mention a few hi-lites. The birthday girl briefly wore her chinese jacket, and twirled her parasol, looking very cute next to her Simon/Lee. The Pump Princess was Perfectly co-ordinated, and there were lovely companions, including a gorgeous gold
giffydoll .
holding_pattern looked hot in her PVC dress and red hair. I heard a lot of Al's stories about bouncing at Indigo whilst smoking with
argentbear, which was entertaining. Wayne wore creepy blue gloves all night, Got to chat with people I hadn't seen for a while, like Luke & Sam & Conan and
Sarumata and
Debonair (though I saw them all again on the next day!.)
Debonair was looking very trim.
I have a few photos, may put them up on Flikr later.
Sunny Sensuous Sunday
Got up late, did the dishes and answered some messages, and all of a sudden it was time to be at Luke & Sam's for the KapCon meeting, threw on clothes, drove off and then couldn't find it. I think I've only been there at night and it didn;t look the same on a bright sunny day. Called up
panda_pitt to get the street number, and finally got there.
The meeting was wonderfully catered, with
svendelmaus arriving with a cheese board! Perhaps because of all the good food,it was a fun and productive meeting, in which we discovered that
svendelmaus thought Conan would look good in a collar, and we discussed wheels of brie as a KapCon cheese award, until we realized that it could be turned into an overly large series of fantasy novels by Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Brie, though Conan suggested that it would go well with the similar series The Wheel of Thyme and Parsley. Don't worry KapCon attendees, we actually got some serious discussion done too, we have masses of prizes and will have a copy of the Serenity RPG as one of the main prizes.
Finished up after three so had an hour or so to kill, so parked downtown and wandered to the harbour where I sat and listened to a busker playing quite bluesy rock guitar and watched the yachts sail, the girls walk by, and the Challenger come in.
Wandered back up to JJ's looking at the shops, and waited for and
superlate and the rest of the crew to discuss characters for his new and mysterious game. While waiting I almost choked on my whiskey when a girl wearing a plain white cotton dress stepped through from the balcony, as she did a perfect "framed in the doorway by the sunlight shining through her dress" shot. The sort of shot that film-makers might have spent ages getting right. Damn, I wish I had those Zeiss camera-eyes.
superlate's game sounds fun with an eclectic mix of odd characters. I decided on playing a computer science student from Manchester, whose current goal is to be like Trent Reznor. This makes it easy to play, as I know Manchester, and computers and music and hopefully meets the requirements that
superlate' had for us to be able to channel character information easily. Heh, may have to dig out the old sequencer and lay down some NIN-like beats to be in character. The other characters are fun too, and the idea of using Chaosium's Hero-Quest rules for a modern game is interesting.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll be able to do even the preliminary game until November due to all our work schedules and social lives! Damn, it's a pain when gamers get lives!
We were just finishing up there when I get a txt from
evie_fae about a TNO emergency, so it's up to Piwakawaka for some javascript hacking and red bean paste buns.
Finally get home and have a laugh at some emails, make a response or two, and then have a very interesting, and somewhat naughty, exchange with a certain special someone whilst
panda_pitt watched Shanghai Knights and some WWII submarine-based horror movie. That little exchange really rounded out the the weekend nicely, making me feel replete and content as I retired
Thank you for your co-operation, girl ! ^__~
