It's Sunday morning and I am pleasantly exhausted.
It has been three days in a row of staying out till 2.00 am and cruising through the days with almost no personal angst, excerpt for some momentary drunken maudlinity. (Is that a word? It is now!)
I've already
covered Thursday, so here's Friday and Satyrday, because y'all so want to know what I've been up to.
Friday
A day on which I managed to keep operating through the day after the previous night's debauchery, but I was quite glad when
evie_fae decide she wanted to leave work early for a coffee. Popped up to Graphix, saw two brand new comic shop chicks! Though neither of them were as hot as our comic shop chicks!
Went to the Mattterhorn for coffee, where we saw the James Fish and some friends, and then linked up with
argentbear who drove us all to Hell in Upper Hutt, and to The Mill for some more Tully and then back to the Zodiac House.
An evening of listening to good music, drinking, watching Evie sew her top for the FF LARP, and lying on the couch stroking Evie's pussy, ensued.
I discovered that I'd forgotten how good Portishead were, and that I haven't listened to enough Radiohead recently.
Evie worked well on her top, even with the distraction of Dagger and I, and it was a nice lazy evening that reminded me of being a teenager again, just sitting around drinking and listening to music with no pressure.
I discovered that my natural Tully drinking rate of an evening results in only just over half of the bottle being drunk. THis implies that one really should drink bottles of whiskey with another person, and neither of the other two that night were drinking the Tully. Got another plum though, and that's always a bonus!
Satyrday and the FF X LARP
Got up late, and started working on my big fucking sword for the FF LARP, I'd gotten the basic shape cut out and a base coat of black paint on it Wednesday night, but had not had a chance to work in it since. I wasn't really sure what I was going to do with it, but I somehow entered a creative state and just did things, which seemed to have worked.
That sort of chewed up most of the day what with lazing around and reading things and preparing other costume items, and then I went up to the Zodiac House.
The FF LARP will be memorable for several things.
Firstly the costuming and portrayals. I'm not sure I have enough adjectives to describe the hotness of the ladies, from
evie_fae's cleavage-enhancing top and skull-clasp boots and the romphia
jarratt_gray had made for her, thru the starry dress under black pvc boob tube of the Assasin Princess
jenni_talula, thru my fellow bodyguard
giffydoll wigged beyond recognition, in her sprayed-on pants and cute panty bow. Guys were hot too,
jarratt_gray pretending to be Akito at the beginning and then strapping himself up in belts like Lulu , and
argentbear's gun-fu with his flintlock duelling pistols.
I can't call
amphigori's portrayal of a reptilian "hot" as such (not having a fetish for green-scaled lizards, but the make-up was absolutely wonderful, and combined with what she did to her hair and the costume, stunning!
And then there were the portrayals of wolves, vultures, and various varieties of flan, and Matt's thieving "prophet", by the others. Debbie's Dark Flan, Idiots vulture, and Donna's wolf were especially memorable.
Secondly was
jarratt_gray's creation of a game that perfectly captured the feel of the FF X games! In some ways it captured it too perfectly, as after a while the combat sequences, just as they do in the game, got annoying.
But it was a pretty impressive feat, turning a computer game into a LARP whilst retaining all the things that made it FF, the wandering around and talking to characters in a scene, and hearing their responses, which would be repeated if the "player" press 'X" on the same person again, finding chests, only three people in combat at a time, and being able to swap other party members in and out of the combat line, each character rushing forward to do their attack on a chosen opponent and then moving back into line, all the same sot of magic, potions, antidotes, remedies, phoenix down's, a dragon made of three "pieces", two wings and a body.
A great game I felt privileged to be involved in.
Finally, the other thing I will remember it for was the victory dances! Especially the victory dance with both Princesses and my fellow bodyguard! I've already mentioned the ladies looked hot, but if you've ever seen what the FF girls do when they win a fight, all I should probably say is that it's far better when real women are doing it! I have to especially mention
evie_fae's Lulu inspired cleavage shot ( especially when the laces were coming undone...) and
giffydoll's usage of her sword as the pole in a pole dance, which description really doesn't capture the full affect, but, anyway, it was lovely to watch them all!
All in all, everyone did really well to produce a great spectacle for
evie_fae's 'birthday"
Hopefully there'll be some photos up soon from
amphigori and/or
jenni_talula so you can all see!
Enough, it's midday and I should get dressed and get on with Game prep for tomorrow!
