The second .gif... what is... I don't... *tilts head* What is going on here? xD

Yay for progress! I'm so happy for you \o/ I can't wait for it to be finished so I can line up to get a copy... sounds like it's shaping up to be epic! (I mean what form of Lucifer touching ISN'T epic?? xD)

I believe it's Josh Holloway apologizing to Jimmy Kimmel for not being at the Aloha to Lost thing because he was filming "Snakes on a Plane 2: Electric Bugaloo.(sp?)" At least, that's how I remember that happening.

I can't wait for it to be finished either... then I can start trying to get it published *sigh*

The only non-epic form of Lucifer touching would be Samifer fingering a rose. Yep.

That's an interesting apology method xD I didn't even know he was a part of Snakes on a Plane 2... shows you how much I know about Josh Holloway, lol.

I don't envy you, being much much closer than I am with having to sort out the whole publishing fiasco... do you have any ideas yet at where you're looking, or have you given thought to self publishing at some point? I know a lot of people go that route after they've exhausted other options, but I'm not even sure how I'd begin trying that... seems like at that point it's a popularity thing, knowing enough people to really get the word out.

I think any form of Lucifer touching involving Samcifer is just... non-epic. Sorry Samcifer, you don't belong in my canon :P

I have a friend who self-published when he was in seventh grade and now he wants to get edit the book and get it "legit" published, but no one will look at it because it's already been published. He's having problems with that.

Wow, that's lousy! I guess the problem then becomes whether you want to go with the sure thing and self-publish, or stick it out and hope for the best with a legit publishing company. It's just so hard with actual companies though... I'm really worried about mine when I actually get to that point because it's such a niche sort of story. I'm worried that the relationships between some of the characters will mess up my chances of getting it published, but the relationships I'm talking about kind of drive the story and at the very least drive my version of Lucifer, so it's impossible to get around.

But seventh grade? WOW. He must be quite talented if he has something from seventh grade that he thinks is worth legitimately publishing! My stuff from seventh grade was awful, Mary Sue garbage :P

I've read the first page of his, and it's seventh grade stuff. But he's rewriting/editing it and hopes to make it good enough to really publish.

I think my problem will be the nature of the story. Vampires are in right now, and angels are not. If it does get picked up, it probably won't be very popular.

Ditto with the angels thing... mine is almost completely centered around them. I'm less worried about the unpopularity of them though, and more worried about how they're being depicted in my story. Hugh told me before that in this book series he was reading (the Kushiel series, not sure if you're familiar with them) there were angels that are prostitute-like and I think he even mentioned some of them were bisexual or gay... but these are either lesser known angels or ones completely made up by the author. My problem is that the two angels who have a kind of sketchy relationship are so incredibly popular and ingrained in religious text and tradition that I'm worries it'll make it TOO out there and TOO taboo to publish. I don't plan on having any crazy graphic fanfic-ish sex in the book by any means, but it's really clear that the two characters have something that extends beyond what should normally be there... and to take it out would be to wreck the whole story ( ... )

I'm kinda of worried, though, that mine's gonna come as a sort of Supernatural rip-off. Azazel lives at an abandoned junkyard (in Oklahoma), there's some stuff that takes place in Lawrence. there's one scene my friend pointed out to me where Lucifer tells Azazel that he wants Sam (short for Samyaza, one of the Grigori) to lead his demon army. I didn't realize I'd done it until she pointed it out to me.

Hmm... I suppose it really depends. How important is it that those things happen in Lawrence, for example? That seems like a possible easy tweak to drag it away from SPN a little bit.

Of course on the off chance that people MAKE that connection, it could be a good thing. You're not using any copyrighted characters, so they can't sue you... and if fans of the show catch wind of the book they might fangirl it and love it just on principle, even if you didn't mean to do it :P

Sometimes I wish I lived in Japan... it's actually legal to make money off of fanfic and fanart there. I'd be all set if I knew how to speak and read and write the language xD

It's not that important. I think it's just my subconscious being all fangirly.

Japan sounds like fun. If only I'd taken Japanese in high school.

Well there you go :) If it's not important and you're worried about so many similarities, that's something you can probably change with relative ease without affecting anything \o/

Your high school had Japanese?? Holy crap O_O Ours didn't have anything other than French and Spanish... lame. Tried taking French but learned nothing really, lol. I always wished they had Latin or Japanese or Danish. Yes, a weird mix, I know.

We had Spanish, French, and 3 years of Japanese available. I took four years of Spanish and all I remember how to say is "I have a crazy chicken in my pants." Fortunately, I was able to scoop up a year of intensive Latin in college (and still don't remember much).

LMAO! I'm not even going to ask why you knew that sentence in the first place... and I'm REALLY not going to ask how I actually knew most of how to phrase that when I didn't take ANY Spanish xD I blame it on the foreigners. I hardly hear English spoken around here anymore.

I think all I remember are the basics of French... and how to order pineapple, of all things. And thanks to Lady Marmalade, how to ask someone if they'd like to go to bed with me... which will come in handy if I ever lure Marksha in with a pair of new, unused socks. We all know how much he loves those :P

Now I want to look up "I've got my socks on" in Spanish... and maybe Latin... possibly Enochian.

If there's even a way to say it in Enochian, 1: I bet Jim Beaver would know... and 2: I need to know it xD

I wonder what, if anything, Marksha speaks other than English... I know he had some interesting scenes in Lost, but he didn't know a lick of either language from what I understand :P

I'm not sure. But I remember an interview where someone asked him about learning languages for shows. He talked about learning a bit of Russian, Korean, Japanese (for what scene?), and Latin (again, WTF?) for Lost. Then he threw in the bit about learning Enochian for Super. There was no follow-up from the interviewer.
