the pettiest of pet peeves

I was at Starbuck's this morning when I saw they were selling this DVD...which might've seemed odd if it weren't even 6am at the time; de sleepy mind will accept much. Had heard of the film but not seen it as yet, slated it for waiting till it hit cable, but was immediately annoyed by the packaging.

This kinda thing has bugged me for years, nothing to do with this film in particular, on movie posters and advertisements for films in general. I don't understand why it is they list the names on posters, from left to right usually near the top, and then line up pictures of the actors but in a different order than the names. Take this image for example: Laurence Fishburne, who is an incredible actor on many levels, was one of my major draws for The Matrix series.

I'm pretty sure that little girl under his name there isn't him.

Not saying she wouldn't have been cute in any of the outfits he wore in that series, oversized though they'd be, but you get the idea.

A lot of movies do this, you've probably seen them throughout your movie experiences, but I don't know that many other people that find this that big a thing.

Just wanna know who started this trend so I can slap them silly.
