So, in case you missed the big announcement, there is now a sister-comm buffy_genfic operating on a more strict schedule, polls start the 15TH and fic is due the 10th of the following month. Since kwritten (aka yours truly) is now juggling two exchange communities, it would be really rockin' for me if multi_genfic operated on a strict, by-the-date schedule as well. I hope you all will be forgiving of this. I really love the two-weeks schedule of femslash_minis, but juggling two schedules is really going to be easier if it is a set date.
So... Round Six (Magical Setting) will be the start of a new schedule!
*throws confetti*
From now on, the rounds will be on this schedule:
On the 1ST of the month, the poll will go up On the 3RD, sign ups will begin On the 6TH, assignments will be sent out On the 27TH, fic is due
[some housekeeping and a poll]This schedule is the opposite of buffy_genfic, which means that the mod won't go insane AND writers will be able to participate in both communities (if they choose) without having due dates coming at them at the same time! Which I kinda feel is a win-win. There's also a bit more leeway between the end of each round and the beginning of the next (in both comms) which I think will keep things a bit cleaner.
Since we will now have 20 days instead of 13-14 to write, do you want to change the word count from 500 to 1,000 (as I have done over at buffy-gen)?
Poll
So since it is now the 20th and another round doesn't start until the first of August - NEVER FEAR! I HAVE A GRAND PLAN OF FUN!

For the next two weeks, I thought we'd play BINGO. Everyone loves bingo, right? But since this is a gen community and not a smut or romantic community, I thought it would be fun to do a Narrative Challenge Bingo. Basically, every Bingo square is a different writing technique or trope. (aka: metaphor, satire, poetry, stream of consciousness, sensory detail, etc.)
The rules are simple: + pick a card - claim it in the comments below before beginning + the cards come in two sizes (5x5 and 4x4) pick what is best for you, don't pick something that is going to be stressful; choose your card carefully + write between 250-500 word short snippets/scenes that incorporate the writing technique of a single square until you reach BINGO + each square needs to be for a different "story" - you can use up to two of the same technique in each story, but these squares cannot be in the same row + keep the topic/subject of your drabbles gen
try not to go over 500 words! we only have two weeks (approximately) and this is supposed to be fun and challenging without being stressful, so pace yourself!
If you fill an entire Bingo square - instead of just doing a row - I'll make you a special gift of some kind. Anyone who fills a row will get a specially-made banner to put on your journal/tumblr as a "haha I'm awesome" sign of accomplishment.
When you finish your card, make a post to the community with either a link to your snippets, or the snippets themselves under lj-cuts. Please also post your bingo card and let us know what story goes with which square. (Either on the post to the comm or in your journal.)
