For alyssa22

Pairing: John/Elizabeth
Prompt: Water
Spoilers: Specifically for Sunday

Elizabeth looked up as she sensed someone else’s movement on the pier. The moment she turned around she questioned why she’d even bothered. Only one person would be able to find her out here, somewhere she’d never been before, but had come because she wanted to be alone.

“You could’ve called me on the radio,” she stated, turning back to look at the water stretching out forever in front of her.

John Sheppard shrugged slightly. “I didn’t come out here for any work related reason. I just…saw you wander off earlier and you’d been gone a while so I figured I’d come and check on you.”

“Then I’m fine, thank you,” she replied, her eyes focused ahead of her, ignoring John’s penetrating gaze.

“No you’re not,” he replied.

She turned and looked at him. “No, no I’m not…Carson died, John, how am I supposed to feel?”

As though on a clichéd cue the heavens opened up above them. More water. She turned back to the ocean and gripped on the railing that was separating her from the large drop down to the waves. She wanted to cry, to let everything out, but she couldn’t do that with John standing next to her.

She was the leader she had to be strong.

“Elizabeth…” he said quietly, touching her arm. “Don’t do this to yourself.”

She closed her eyes, trying to ignore him.

“Leaders are allowed to be weak sometimes too,” he whispered, and before she had a chance to react he’d pulled her to him and put his arms around her.

“I want him to be alive, John…” she whispered back.

“I know,” he replied. “Me too.”

And with that for the first time since the accident she allowed the tears to flow freely.

Pairing: Tony/Ziva
Prompt: Window
A/N: I haven't actually watched NCIS in quite a few years...so if characterisations are off that's because I have only seen one episode with Ziva in it ;)

“Grow up,” Ziva’s voice penetrated Tony’s concentration.

He looked away from his computer screen and looked at her. “I didn’t do anything!”

“No but you were thinking about it,” she replied, looking back down at whatever she was working on.

He narrowed his eyes at her. He’d never expected to work with someone who was…well…just as bad as him at being nice to people. And even after a year and a half she still managed to surprise him.

“Fine,” he said, looking back at his screen.

Grow up? Grow up? He hadn’t done anything. Oh he was so getting her back for that one. Where was everyone else anyway?

Suddenly unable to concentrate on his work he closed all the windows and turned his attention to the piece of paper in front of him. He folded it a few times, quickly making a paper aeroplane, and aimed it directly at Ziva.

It missed her face, where he’d been aiming for, but he managed to land it in her lap.

She glared at him.

“Thank you for proving my point,” she muttered.

Proving her point? Oh he would prove her point alright…

He quickly scanned his desk for another object he could use to annoy her and his eyes landed on a small, plastic ball someone had left on his desk. He aimed carefully.

“Stop it,” she said, not even looking at him.

He threw.

Bullseye.

“That’s it!” she picked the ball back up and threw it back at him, taking little time to aim.

It bounced off the corner of his desk and flew right for the nearest window. They both sat frozen in their positioned, and watched it.

“Shit!” they both jumped up at the same time and ran after it.

Smash.

“Dinozzo….”

Tony and Ziva both looked at each other for a moment before turning around to face the voice. Of course Gibbs would chose that moment to appear in the office.
