well its thursday ....winter break.....
ive managed to eat crap but excersize once a day at least. hehe
My dad is letting me use his car- oh how that car took care of me over the summer, I missed it- even if it shakes a lot now ( when you are stopped hahaha)
I got two of my grades so far. I got an A in CHALE..that was expected- I was a part of Core and I was a mentor. Its only for 2 credits. But the highlight was the A- I got in my Edu. Reform upper div. class. This class was supposed to be for jun and sen, people who had take the other under div. education classes. So I was one of maybe 3 sophmores. My first paper I got a C- on. Ya...I wrote it the night before. The second paper I wanted ( well i HAD ) to do well. The class only had 50 people- 50 amazing people. Some of these students had so much experience already in classrooms and some were student leaders in my lower div. edu. class ( which i dont really agree with but thats a whole other entry). So for the second paper I actually spoke with the professor about it. It helped- A LOT. I really found my focus for the class- DEMOCRACY. The differing definitions of it and how public education can either promote, destroy or squew (sp) democratic equality. So I got an A+ on that paper. *side note - I really hate how we care about grades..I really wisdh UCSC would go back to no grades.....it makes so much more sense and it just more true to what education needs to be....ugh.* So then for the final paper I really wanted to do well. It was an awesome assignement. We had to chose a form of reform ( or make our own or combind the different ones) Define the purpose of education, our plan, why it is better than others,what implications are there and how we plan to execute it. I talked with my prof. soooo many timeeees. She is hardcore woman. I reallly liked her and enjoyed that class. So..after pulling an all nighter and not going home for thanksgiving I got an A- in the class. However, I dont know what I got on my final (14 page paper booo). I think that I definetly could have worked more on it ..I still think I was a bit confused about it even when I turned it in. But oh well. Its a start. SHe's offering a really interesting class in the spring about the Teacher and how women are the majority and all this..but she is restricting it :( So i'll have to wait till next spring.
I haven't gotten my grades for my other classes. I am pretty sure I'll get an A for my music class and HOPEFULLY a B or A for evol. of edu. We'll see.
One more thing...life's a trip. Definetly a roller coaster....up and down....up and down...and sometimes there is a loop!
