I was stuck behind a van today with nine of those tacky little magnetic ribbons on the back. NINE. And they were all different. I counted three times because I just couldn't believe it.
I think what I really resent about those ribbons is that they show such a lack of commitment. It's a magnet! If your parents are coming over and you don't want them to know that you support XYZ Cause, you can just take it off and put it back on once they leave. Once you've tired of XYZ politician, you can take off the magnet, no harm to your car.
Stickers, they show balls. You're in for the long haul if you put a sticker on your car. Yes, you can peel it off, but it's going to take some work and a bottle of Goop-Be-Gone. You don't slap stickers on as casually as magnets.
