Quite bored right now, so I'm going to indulge in some wishful thinking. Some of you might remember that there were rumours about 2-3 years ago that the powers that be were going to remake My Fair Lady as a film starring Keira Knightley as Eliza and Jonathan Pryce as Higgins. Yes, I know. Why fix what ain't broke? Especially when Knightley is a mannequin probably can't sing - and I'm not that big a fan of Jonathan Pryce, either. (His portrayal of the The Master in the Doctor Who Comic Relief Special of ages ago is hilarious, though.)
Anyway, those rumours have since died; but if not Knightley and Pryce, then I would love to see Paul McGann playing Professor Higgins and Billie Piper as Eliza Dolittle. What do you think of that? Best combo since fish and chips? Couldn't think of anyone suitably photogenic and endowed in the acting and singing areas to play Freddy Eynsford-Hill, but maybe my f-list could suggest someone.
What would your dream casting be for a film/TV series you've always wished the powers that be would make? I mean, come on. The French made a live-action film adaptation of Asterix and Obelix. Strangely enough, it worked and looked a lot like the comic, but was still pretty bizarre.
Tell me what you think! Post your dream casting up at your journal - with pictures and Photoshopped heads-on-bodies, if you like! :D
