I'm behind again...I have five more entries to import from my OpenDiary. I'm still doing
NoJoMo so here are the last five.
Flim Flam Flummox Day 11
Today we have to write an entry without speaking in the first person. Tomorrow we have to do a photographic dittle (coined by my sister, dittle = DITL = Day In The Life.) I'm not sure about doing a dittle, I'll have to take photos and work and try to explain what I'm doing; they already think the internet is for geeks and think I'm really sad as I met Pete on the internet and have lots of online friends that became real life friends, so how to explain NoJoMo and DITLs to them without sounding mental...?
Anyway, onto not speaking in the first person.
PurleyQueens have been asked to have a stall at the Quorn Open Gardens craft fair again next year! How exciting! Sonja has some ideas to try and make it more successful than this year, such as not having quite so much stock on the table as it's overwhelming and confusing to anyone who wants to look at it, and displaying the catalogue instead. It's always worth a try and, as she said, it was fun enough just all spending the day together even if not much money was made :o)
Not a very long or exciting entry, sorry, but there was this bloke at University who always talked about himself in the third person and it was a little annoying and very strange "Tony is happy." "Tony is going to drink some beer." So this journal entry wasn't going to be like that, for that reason, but it's quite difficult!
Bedtime now...and Harry Potter (the fourth book....*hangs head in shame*) But only if the dry, itchy eyes will stop being dry and itchy, not very pleasant. What's causing that then and how can it be fixed? They're completely dry, like if you touch it, your finger doesn't get wet, ack.
Do Do Do The Funky Gibbon Day 12
DITL. OK so I didn't take any photos until I got home from work and even those ones are rubbish as I felt a bit conspicuous and strange. Things are a bit tense at work at the moment (my boss is apparently having an affair with one of the electricians and, for some reason, one of my colleagues decided to talk about it with my boss' boss, even though it's got nothing to do with work and is none of her business...) Anyway, I only took photos after work so I only have four. Sorry. I can still tell my DITL in words if you like. It's not very exciting.
Wake up at 7:45, wash face, get dressed, have my breakfast of a kiwi fruit and yoghurt, put on make up, get bike out of shed, cycle 1.5 miles to work. Get to work, turn on my PC, do work including answering phones, chasing up contractors for company information, raising job requisitions, complain that nobody knows what's going on. Walk to a Photoshop lecture in my lunch break only to find it's been moved to the other side of campus which is too far for me to go to get there in time, go back to the office and spend my lunch break reading a book and playing on the internet. Work again, at 5pm we're all supposed to go home but three of us stay behind to gossip and complain some more, finally leave the office at about 5:30. Cycle home, play on the computer for a bit, Pete comes home about 6:30. Go out to buy tickets for Quantum of Solace which starts at 8pm but we know is going to be hugely popular as it's £3.50 Wednesday, it's £6.00 the rest of the week :o)
Be really cheeky and buy popcorn from Sainsbury's instead of the cinema as it's about 1/4 of the price.
Go to the Chinese for dinner, just the two of us :o) I know, these photos make me embarrassed to call myself a photographer but I was trying to quick as I was slightly embarrassed taking them!
Trying to take a photo in the cinema without being kicked out...That obviously isn't Daniel Craig on the screen, this was an advert before the film came on, just to be safe.
And where I am now, posting this!
Now it's 11pm and I'm just about to watch Desperate Housewives and then go to bed.
See I told you it wasn't very exciting...
My Dad has a new job! He says it's with Royal Mail and involves some driving but apart from that he doesn't know what he'll be doing. I suggested that perhaps he's going to me James Bond, working for the MI6 and not quite knowing what he's doing or why. How exciting! Or he could be being a postman, who knows? I have a joke.
What will Postman Pat be called when he retires?
Pat.
Well I laughed....
Blah Blah Blah Day 13
So today we have to write what they call a 'bucket list' which a list of things you want to do before you die, or before you "kick the bucket". Well, I already have my
101 things in 1001 days list, but that's just short term, only 2.75 years. My list is boring, just the same old same old, but I'll make it anyway. In no particular order;
* Get married
* Have children. I used to want three but now I think I only want two.
* Have a glittering film career.
* Own my own home
* Lots more travelling.
* Make a big, positive difference in someone's life.
* See The Offspring and Muse live. I have seen them live before, but The Offspring were like tiny dots in the distance, and Muse was only for three songs as I was photographing them at the time so I couldn't enjoy it properly. I'm going to show off some of my photos anyway.
I can't believe that was two years ago and it was the last gig that I shot! I really should get my act together and shoot some more.
Anyway, I can't think of anything else right now as I'm tired and it's after midnight now as well which means I've failed to write an entry on the 13th, so I've failed at NoJoMo, dammit!
I've just got back from Abi's and we had a SingStar / Wii evening with Jess, Laura, Ant and Christine so it was a girl's night in a lot of fun :o)
Bedtime now though.
I'll have a P please Bob Day 14
Today they want us to post our 14th journal entry. I've actually been writing here since around 2002 but I've moved to Bloop, InTheWire, somewhere else, LiveJournal and back again (I'm also still at LiveJournal and have some fabulous friends from the Ewan_Playground) Anyway, my point is that this current journal has only been going since June 2005, so here is my 14th entry:
Monday June 12 2006 (Bob's 11th birthday!)
When's InTheWire coming back?
You scored as Perky Goff. You are a perky goff! You like cute things, glitter, and scary carnivals. You think that the contrast between playful innocence and dark corruption is tantalizing, which is why you like to dress up like an evil dollie.

QuizFarm.com So, Abi came to visit the weekend before last! We got up to all sorts of fun stuff. We had a BBQ where we expected about 5 people and about 15 turned up! Our yard is the smallest yard in the world, I don't know how they all fitted in! Look:
Bit of a squish, but a lot of fun! Everyone got a bit frisky and decided to use our washing line as a catapult to fire stuff like sausages, bread, cheese and Jaffa Cakes into next door's garden...they even managed to get a Jaffa Cake through next door's window and it landed inside their curtain; nice surprise for them. Afterwards, there were loads of packets of plastic cheese, so a load of people collected some up for use on the way to Comedy Club. Pete was posting them under people's windscreen wipers and throwing them at road signs. So, along Ashby Road there are now 3 road signs with plastic cheese firmly baked onto them; they're still there a week and a half later!
On the Friday night I took Abi out to the pub and club we normally go to and everyone loved her to bits! Of course, she was her usual mental self, dancing with everyone and made a lot of friends. Simon King spent the entire night trying to get me and her to get it together the dirty barsteward. I'm sure Pete would have had something to say had he been there, but he was out on a trendy night up at the Students' Union with all of his trendy girlfriends from the magazine. I'm so ashamed...
Abi made especially good friends with Iain:
Simon King
and Andy
This is the 4 of us L-R me, Andy, Abi and my Pete) in Bradgate Country Park on the Sunday. I got my camera on the 10 second timer but the wall was all wonky and pointed downwards, hence we're all ducking down! LoL. I had a great time and can't believe it's been over 2 years since I last saw her!
Well, what else? Yesterday was the Label magazine annual BBQ so me and Pete headed down to there. I wasn't expecting to enjoy myself too much because Pete knows a lot of people and I don't know ANY of them, but it was great. We sat in a circle with out feet in a paddling pool, eating the free food, drinking the free drink and chatting about bollocks for several hours. I had a good time, but regretted it later. Now I know why sitting in the blazing sunshine getting drunk is a bad idea. Ugh! I had such a bad headache and felt really sick later. Us Brits just aren't used to the sunshine! Haha.
Time for more pics I think!
Pete with Charley Boorman! And he really is as red in real life as he is on the TV, it's quite scary!
And Charley signing a poster for Pete; look how he spells his name! Bless. He's writing it out to rotting vegetation.
3 wise monkeys.
Pete with Nick Sanders, one guy went around the world on a motorbike, Pete's got several of his books.
Pete on his sexy Bandit
Aaaand I think that's me pretty much updated now! Ooo I got a pay rise! Not much, but it's being backdated from when I started there in November, so should get a nice little lump sum in August, yayness!
*********************************************************************
Wow, well, Abi met Andy when she came to visit me, and now they've been together for more than two years and they live together in Loughborough, and it's all because of me. Go me! :-D Andy's much better than her previous boyfriend, she's so trusting but that means she's been trod on more times than anyone should be, so it's about time she had a boyfriend that treated her right, and Andy definitely does, he's so good for her, so I was so pleased when they go together :o)
Ooh look, Pete with Charley Boorman, I can't believe how long ago that was! Poor old Charley, I shook his hand and I was thinking "I bet he's touched Ewan McGregor with this hand!" I didn't say it out loud though, I felt sorry for him because half the people in the queue were asking "Where's Ewan?!" I wanted to tell them to shut up and enjoy meeting Charley, I bet he gets really pissed off. (Ewan was in the Isle of Man shooting Miss Potter at the time, I told a couple of people. No, I'm not obsessed...really.)
I have fish! Rich and Jess have gone to India for two weeks so I'm looking after their fishies and a large tray of plants while they're away. I've never had fish before, I hope they don't die. I'll just have to make sure I don't overfeed them.
Anyway, I've now got to go and get ready to go out for a curry with work. Num num num curry :-D
Oh, hold on a second, because I've posted an entry every single day for two weeks, and not only that, I've also done every single challenge (and it's hard work!), that means I'm allowed to post a photo of a baby eating a book. So here it is, I'm a two week winner.
Kiss me quick Day 15
I can't believe I've written in my diary every day for 15 days! It's hard work and I'll be kind of glad when this month is over, I certainly couldn't do it all the time! Today we have to write about things we collect. I don't collect anything, does that make me boring? Except maybe....
Does that count as a collection? At first glance they're only DVDs like any other, but closer and every single one has something to do with Ewan McGregor. That's not even all of them as I've loaned three of them out to people, hence the gap (prizes to anyone who can spot the ones I've loaned out! LoL.)
And then there are the books and magazines, including my signed Othello programme up there on the top left. That's not even everything, I couldn't fit it all in the photo...*Is not obsessed.*
I bought some shiny things for my birds today. OK, so not actually shiny, but they're nice. I wanted a new cuttle fish bone but they didn't have any normal ones, only strawberry or banana flavoured which it a bit strange, so they now have a brand new strawberry cuttle fish bone, a swing which I don't think they like as they jump on it and immediately off again when it moves, a new water bottle and a bag of sand. I'm glad I'm not a zebra finch, getting bones and sand as presents...
I'm getting attached to Rich's fish now, they were boring at first but I've since noticed that they have eyebrows which wobble when they swim and I stuck a fish flake to my finger and they nibbled it off which felt funny. God it must be boring being a fish. Gilbert is the square one and he's called Gilbert because he has gills (don't all fish have gills?) and Sushi is the floaty one "Because Jess is mean" says Rich.
I'm thinking of learning a foreign language because;
1) I'm getting bored with every day life and don't have anything to challenge myself with. Languages is always something I've struggled with (except English of course, I've been speaking that my whole life.) so it would be an interesting challenge for me.
2) I always feel really rude I go abroad and I expect everyone to speak English.
I can't decide what to learn though. I've narrowed it down to German or Spanish. I've spoken German before and have a German GCSE so I have a basis in that already. But a lot more people speak Spanish, not only in Spain where my parents now own a house, but also in the Southern states of the USA, in which I might be living in one day, so Spanish could be more useful, but I have never ever spoken it before so I'd be starting from scratch. Hmmm, what do you all reckon?
