Summary: This is the part of the story in which I establish some of my desired couplings. There really is less RyoDa in here, but I just wanted to show some of the side stories. And maybe give a glimpse as to what troubles there will be for the other JE boys.

“Baka. Get over it,” Yamapi rolled his eyes. He got up and shook Ueda. “Oy! I was just kidding. We didn’t sleep sleep together… Like have sex or anything.”
Ueda stirred. He looked up at the NEWS leader.
“AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.”
Pi sighed. “Calm down.”
“Well, if we didn’t sleep together why am I naked!?”
“You’re not naked! Look! You have your underwear on!” Yamapi tried to reason.
Still, Ueda looked like he was about to cry.
“I would never cheat on Ryo!”
“I know… I know. Calm down. You were drunk last night and I don’t like outside clothes on my bed, so I took off your clothes and let you sleep there. I went over to sleep on the couch, but I must have slept walked and went back to my bed. I like holding onto things when I sleep so I’m really sorry that I shocked you this morning,” Yamapi lied. He felt proud of himself. He never knew that he was so good at coming up with stories. “Silly, come on. We need to get dressed and eat breakfast before we head back to work.”
Tatsuya’s heart was beating fast. He didn’t know what to think. If Yamashita didn’t want his dirty clothes on the bed, he could have just laid him on the couch and let him sleep there. There was no point in taking off his clothes. Wait… he still had no clothes on.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH.”
“Eh… I’ll just go use the bathroom first then, ne? You… still need to calm down. Haha. Your clothes are dirty, so you can borrow whatever you want from my closet.”
Ueda nodded. He didn’t think he could talk to Yamashita at the moment. Ueda felt so guilty. It wasn’t even funny how much the shock hurt him. Hell… what would Ryo think?

Ryo went to work early that morning. He was tired and frustrated. His night wasn’t that great. Who knew sleeping without hearing Ueda’s voice first would be a horrible experience? And what was that pain in his chest the moment he woke up? Ryo tried to shake it off… but he still had a sinking stomach feeling. He was worried for his Tatsuya and he didn’t know why.
“Oh, Ryo-chan, ohayo.”
Ryo looked up to find one of his close friends, Jin. “Ohayo, Bakanishi.”
“OI! Eh… Where is Ueda?” Jin asked after quickly forgetting that Ryo just insulted him.
“We had a fight yesterday… Yamapi took him out and Princess slept over,” Ryo replied.
“Eh? Yamapi?” Jin suddenly had a hooded look in his eyes. Ryo knew what it was about, but he couldn’t help but comment.
“Jin, it was Kamenashi’s fault wasn’t it?” Ryo didn’t know what to say to comfort his friend, but at the very least, he could listen.
“Nah. I think somewhere… it was my fault. I can’t really blame anyone but myself,” Jin replied. He nodded towards Ryo and slowly walked away. Ryo stood at the front of the building, wondering… when all of them would get over it.

“Ueda-kun!” Yamapi shouted. “Breakfast is ready!”
However, Ueda was still in Yamapi’s wardrobe.
“Why the hell does he only have white clothes?!” Ueda was getting irritated. He was in a dark mood and there were no dark clothes to express his feelings. Today just might be a really long day.

Since Tatsuya and Yamapi hadn’t arrived yet at the Jimusho, Ryo decided to go wander around. He had wanted to wait outside, but he was thirsty. He rounded a corner to go to the vending machine that was by the staircase. He couldn’t decide what to drink, so he did the next best thing. Ennie meenie miney mo.
“Ah, Nishikido-kun?” came a voice.
“Toushin!” Ryo smiled. He always enjoyed hanging out with the juniors that he knew since he first entered JE.
“What are you…” Toushin suddenly paused when someone from behind him jumped on him.
“Shunsuke!” Ryo laughed. “What are you guys doing here?”
“Well, I’m thirsty! And someone is in my way,” Toushin joked.
“I’m here because Toma asked me to get him a coffee and HaseJun asked for a chocolate bar,” Kazama Shunsuke replied cheerfully.
Suddenly, there was a loud moan emitting from underneath the staircase. All three boys’ eyes rounded quickly and they all blushed.
“Ah, well… AH! I forgot to get the money from them! Ja!” And Kazama left.
“Um… You know… Goseki asked me to meet him on the roof… So… yeah. Bye!” And just like that… Ryo was left alone with the loud moaning nearby.

Ueda Tatsuya was nervous. For some reason, being alone with Yamashita after what happened this morning was giving the fairy princess grief.
“I was thinking,” Yamapi started as he lifted his chopsticks up to his mouth. “I don’t think we should tell Ryo-chan what happened this morning.
Ueda felt like a great weight was lifted from his chest.
“Ah, Yamashita-kun. Thank you. Thank you so much,” Ueda bowed.
“Aw, now. Yamashita-kun? Why don’t you just call me Yamapi? You didn’t seem to mind when you were moaning my name last night,” Pi teased, but his smile quickly turned into a grimace when he saw Ueda’s face pale drastically. “It was a joke, Ueda-kun. Really, I’m sorry.”
“Ah. Haha. You’re… You… You have the same humor as Jin, ne?” Ueda said nervously. He looked up to see Yamapi’s eyes harden.
“Please,” Yamapi said with his voice strained. “Please, don’t say that name in front of me.”
Ueda nodded slowly, “Go-… gomen ne.”

Out of curiosity and because he was sometimes a jerk, Ryo desperately wanted to bust the couple underneath the stairs. Seeing their shocked faces would be priceless. For real. `x]
As he slowly made his way, he heard a loud, “Ah. Koki.” Ryo blinked, that sounded awfully like…
“Yuyaaaa.~”
Well, it was safe to say that Ryo was the one shocked and not the opposite. He peered down and said, “Eh?”
The two boys underneath the staircase jumped. Koki immediately went in front of Tegoshi, to shield the younger boy from view.
“Hmmm. Koki. I know who is back there,” Ryo said quietly. The air was stiff.
“Ko-kun, it’s ok,” muttered Tesshi. “Let me talk to Ryo-tan. Ok?” He turned Koki around and pecked him on the lips. Koki nodded and started to stalk away, right after giving Ryo a hard glare.
Ryo watched the bozu boy leave. “Tegonyan. Do you know what you’re doing?”
Tesshi had enough shame to look down. “No, no, I don’t Ryo-tan.”
“What about Massu?” Ryo said this quietly, but the frustration was there.
“I… I…”
“I’ll leave this to you. This is such a hard thing to come between. I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can help you out this time, Tessh,” Ryo sighed. Who knew Tegoshi had the nerve to cheat on his boyfriend?

“Oi,” Yamapi called. “Hurry up! We’ll be late! And don’t you want to go talk to Ryo-chan?”
Ueda hesitated. He wasn’t so sure what to say to Ryo that morning. In fact, he couldn’t remember the argument. “Ano, maybe I’ll just go apologize, ne?”
“Apologize? Nande? He was the one who made you cry!” Yamapi shook his head. What was with these two?
“Yeah, but…” Ueda started.
“Yeah, but nothing,” Yamapi finished. “I don’t understand how you can be so forgiving when all he does is make you cry.”
Ueda nodded. He wanted to say something in defense to his boyfriend, but words escaped him. He knew from the very beginning that going out with Ryo would include bad times as well as good times. But fighting over petty things when all he really wanted to do was go home and be with Ryo wasn’t appealing.
“Come on. Get in the car.”

Ryo left Tegoshi to bump into Kame.
“Yosh, Kaaaamenashi-kun,” Ryo said cutely.
“Ah. Ryo-chan,” Kame greeted.
“We need to talk,” Ryo murmured loud enough for Kame to hear the threat in his voice.
Kame blinked. He knew what this was about, but he didn’t know how to go about telling Ryo off. “Ryo, it’s none of your business.”
“It is my business when two of my close friends no longer look at each other or even talk to each other for that matter,” Ryo said calmly.
“Let me work it out, ok?”
“Kame, I’ve been letting you work it out since the beginning. I know I don’t know the situation, but please Kame, he hasn’t been looking good or acting the same ever since,” Ryo wanted to be as gentle as possible. Kame was a volcano in a sense. You never knew when something would trigger an eruption.
“I just wanted him to myself for a while. That’s all.” And Kame stalked away.
“At what expense, Kame?”

Their car ride was a silent one. Yamapi wanted to start a conversation, but he didn’t know where to start. It seemed as though what he had said earlier really got to Ueda.
“Ano, Ueda-kun,” Pi sighed. “Are you ok?”
“Ah? Hai. Don’t worry. I’m just thinking about what I should say to Ryo…”
“Really? Well, what do you have so far?” Pi asked.
“Well, I actually have nothing. Haha. I don’t even remember what we were arguing about.”
“Well, then why don’t you just confront him on all the times he has hurt you?”
“All the times he hurt me?” Ueda shook his head. “Ryo never hur…” Ueda caught himself as he saw Yamapi’s skeptical look. “OK, so maybe he says some hurtful things, but it’s not like I don’t fight back.”
Yamapi nodded. “But what about all those girls?”
Ueda’s eyes rounded. “Girls?”
“You know… like Leah… or Anne Suzuki… or even Aya. Not to mention all the guys that he’s been seen with. You know… like Uchi-kun.”
Ueda’s eyes began to sting. “Ryo’s gay. Haha. And. I know he and Uchi are just friends.”
“Are they really?” Yamapi murmured.

Ryo sighed and walked to the front door of the building. He wasn’t all that surprised to find Shige there.
“Kaaato-kun,” Ryo laughed. It was nice once in a while to see the younger boy. “How are you?”
“Nishikido-kun. Genki,” Shige answered.
“Hah. Is something wrong with you too?” Ryo asked.
“What makes you think something is wrong?” Shige smiled his drama smile.
“You know… Koyama was right. That smile makes people shiver,” Ryo shook his head. “Of course I would know if something is wrong.”
Shige sighed. “I… just don’t know what to do anymore.”
Ryo nodded. “If it makes you feel any better… I think Tegonyan will be breaking up with Massu soon.”
“EEEEEHHHHHHH!?”

The two boys pulled up to the Tokyo JE base. Ueda looked out of the window and his heart stopped. Yamapi turned his head to look where Ueda was looking and laughed. Ryo and Shige were talking and laughing.
“They broke up a long time ago. Get over it.”
