Just imagine him spaced out, all right? I don't have a "sad" icon.

Who: Heiji and anyone else who wants to join in.
What: Birthday blues
Where: Courtyard
When: Aug. 18. Afternoon
Rating: G.

Heiji sat out in the courtyard. For the past few weeks that Kudo disappeared, he had mostly been in the library and in his room when Hakuba wasn't in it. Today was his birthday, certainly not a happy one. His best friend was missing, and he couldn't find him. He, Hattori Heiji, the great detective of the west couldn't find someone... Especially in a small area like this.

For right now he was just leaning against a tree, his head tilted to the sky looking through the gaps in the tree. The sun shined through brilliantly. But there was nothing brilliant about today.

He would be surprised if no one remembered or even knew when his birthday was. He never really communicated with people Besides nee-chan, Hakuba, and Kuroba, no one else probably remembered him.

Speaking of nee-chan... Heiji began to feel like he knew how nee-chan felt. Kudo Shinichi supposed disappeared a few months ago when he was in fact next to nee-chan all this time in child form. He now understood how it felt to wait for someone for so long, not knowing if they were alive or not. Only calling once in a while. He wondered if Kudo was at least ok It wouldn't matter as much if he was lost, he'd no doubt get out. But... If he was injured like that time...

Heiji shook the memory out of his mind. When Kudo was shot in the gut by robbers in a cave. That still haunted him. If nee-chan wasn't there... Then...

event: birthday, heiji hattori
