Changing with the times

What: Following Riku's advice, the Undertaker tries to make something other than coffins. It may or may not work...

Times were changing. Business had blossomed in London; there was never a day that no one died in a city that large. But here...he'd been here for a month, and he'd only made three coffins: one for himself, one for a present, and only one on an honest commission. He needed to get his laughs somehow. If that meant putting aside his art, temporarily, of course, then that was what he'd have to do.
The Undertaker had spent the days since he'd talked with Lady Riku thinking about what he should make. He'd finally settled on a jewelry box, as a little inside joke with himself. In the Americas, undertakers called coffins 'caskets', which really meant a jewelry box. In a way, he would still be making a coffin!
He'd measured out the wood already, so he just needed to cut, sand, assemble, and then choose a design to decorate the piece. Taking a quick break to devour a few grapes (they tasted like sheperd's pie, so he'd taken a bowl of them from the cafeteria to snack on while he worked), he looked over his tools to make sure he had everything he needed.
