What: For the half of the party taking place outdoors.

The park is caught between the blazing bright light of three bonfires, and the ghostly glow of the moon through an overcast night. The trees are wrapped with red thread, and outside the ring of the fire's glow they wave in the night like grasping fingers. Hafted sconces are arranged in a strange pattern throughout the grounds, pumpkin lanterns suspended from the spindly black metal and swinging their orange light with the sway of the breeze, making the shadows of fallen leaves dance crazily. Spiced cider and soul cakes are kept warm by special heaters on a table, nuts and marshmallows lie in bowls with sticks for roasting, and bowls are filled with candy, the food under light nets to keep away the insects. The benches have been arranged to make the best use of the fire's light and heat and the night's view. Bats flit through the trees, their faint leathery rustling appropriate accompanyment to the fiddler trio that wails their way through ghost songs and Irish dances.
