Losing my religion

Is it really that difficult to start something?  Unfortunately it is.  Right now I have so many thoughts and feelings running through my head that I can’t even figure out where to begin!  Of course, part of that is I want to sound interesting and cool but it is beside the point at this moment.  So moving on….

As far as self-motivating goes I struggled with this and continue to. Making lists DOES help me also. But most of all it's about developing a LOT of inner resolve and if necessary, it's about cutting yourself OFF from your obsessions. If I know a videogame would distract me for 3 hours even if I tried to only play it for one, I don't even start it until I have the necessary free time FOR the long amount of time I would spend on it. For you, if the internet is a problem, turn it off, disconnect it, and gets some work done, THEN turn it back on. Fighting temptation is hard, but it gets easier with practice.

As for faith. Yeah I waiver like that all the time. I feel like it's pretty normal, and anyone who has a complete and utterly unwavering faith is just not really looking at the reality of such a HUGE concept as God very complexly. Personally I'm a universalist and I believe everyone is going to heaven eventually. But that's just me.

As for purpose. Something important that was said to me, is that you don't have to find God's path for you, he'll be on any path you take. The best advice I have for you is to make yourself into something you're proud to be, and the rest will follow. If you treat others with kindness and respect and work hard to make yourself and your life into something you're proud of, you WILL feel happy and closer to God.

As for homosexuality and using the bible as a weapon, I think it will always "say what you want it to say" and ask much as I'd love for there to be a "one size fits all" book out there that is word for word truth in perfect form. There isn't. We're humans, this book has been in our hands for thousands of years and let's face it, there is slim to none chance that it's survived that long in the hands and heads of broken people. The real answers in life can only come from within after a lot of seeking, interacting and questioning.
