[Multi-Fandom] Team Albany ficlets (PG-13)

Jul 20, 2014 22:59

Author's Note: Yet more ficlets set in the Team Albany AU. Various pairings, various ratings, mature/dark things ahead, so read at your own risk. Also, the last one might be an AU of an AU (AUception???)

Preferences

He had little interest in the matters of the flesh before he slipped past the veil for that brief moment. He had had one brief attraction for a classmate, but that seems like an event that happened a lifetime ago.

Mudgett's attentions suffice for now. Once on a time, he would have feared for his soul, but death has quelled that fear.

Surprises

The letter that awaited Angelo in the office of the warden at Ossining on the day of his release included train fare and boat fare to Atlantic City, along with an address and a key.

He arrived at that address some hours later, a pale man showing him the way up a twisting staircase to a rear apartment. Unlocking the door, he found the place furnished... and a grinning face he never expected to see again as Jack emerges from the bedroom, ready to lead him across the threshold.

Exception

Harrow fits his 'type' to the nines: even his flaws make him attractive. But the fact that he can see deeper into Mudgett, into the soul he wonders if he still possesses, keeps him from backing the other man against a bookcase in his office and ravishing his mouth.

Courtesan

Jack has had the ears and other things of not a few beer barons these days: reminds him of the chats he used to have with Lola Montez who had the ears and other things of kings and captains of industry.

Fair Exchange

Ruka has seen how the theatre directors and agents look at her brother, the barely veiled interest and slack-jawed desire. If they're going to pull the casting couch routine on them, she makes sure it's her and not Asato laid out on that couch.

Wait and Wonder

The nights his master has gone elsewhere with a lover, Hyacinthe often remained at home, a book or some artwork occupying his senses and his intellect. When the evening melded into night, he turned in out of habit; though he had a room of his own, he often slipped between the silken sheets of his master's bed, savoring his lingering scent and the echoes of their last encounter.

Fishing in the Void

"Get me the surgical pencil: it should be on the tray near the slab," he orders, not looking up as he turns the body over and using his boot knife, cuts the blood-soaked suit free.

"You are not doing this," she orders.

He looks over his right shoulder, clearly not looking at her on purpose. "There's no time for arguing." The shadows on the wall behind him start to roil as he speaks. "This is for her," he adds, a sigh that he would not want her to hear. "When you feel the air clear, get her in here..."

She goes for the grease pencil, setting it on the slab when she returns. She leaves quickly, the air starting to burn as he reaches into the void to seek the soul of the last man Ty Yue expected Mudgett to call back from beyond the veil
