The two of them lying together, she with her back against his chest, his hand covering hers, her tiny fingers entwined with his long graceful ones. He had such strong, capable hands, that caressed her gently, that treated injuries and illnesses to save the lives of his patients.
He would never let her know what else these hands could do: how they summoned dark spirits and cast curses, how they could drain the lives of victims, or end their life with a swift but elegant brutality, how they reached for lovers other than her and pulled them into his embrace...
