They said he looked like an angel, with his pale face, silvery hair, and graceful bearing. They guessed rightly, though he possessed but half the genetics of one, through his mother, his grandfather's creation rather than his offspring.
Only fitting then that a stone angel rather than a simple marker stood over her grave, an image of the race from which she had been created; a mirror image, save for the wings, of her and of her child who stood before it.
How then could death claim an angel? Because Yukitaka had created her? Because she lacked pure angel's blood?
