Egads, the newspapers are full of idiots.

Okay, maybe not full of them but trust me, reading the papers makes me even more nervous than watching the news on television or on the internet. Everyday I read something that makes me wonder what is happening to the intellectual level of the Untied States as a whole since it seems people are acting stranger by the moment.

I read today about a nurse (gods help us) who was found guilty of killing her 6 foot 6 220 pound husband and then dismembering him and putting his body parts in to matching luggage and then dumping it into a river. 300 miles later the luggage washes ashore and of course the body parts are found along with the damning evidence of the bullet that killed the guy which just so happens to match a gun that the nurse had purchased. Now, she swears she did not kill him and he defense attempted to point out that she is a 5-foot tall tiny framed woman who never have lifted her husband living or dead. So of course they thing that she had help but no other arrests were ever made, and now this tiny nurse (mother of two) is going to go to jail for the long haul. Somewhere in the back of my mind I wonder, will be hearing more about this crime say in 20 years when they find out something they overlooked this time around?

Of course, there is also the amazing amount of news related to Virginia Tech and everything that is and is not happening there and how what happened there is affecting the schools across the nation. From strange bomb threats, to shootings to threats of violence and suicide, the whole gambit is being laid out. Moreover, of course, our media people are eating it up and spreading it around for all of us to read, listen to and be washed in.

Then there is the local front where we hear about a judge and a prosecutor who were having a fling, and had their fling while at work, the judge’s chambers and the ladies shower room. Okay, now just what we want to know, that the judge was getting his kink on. Come on, people is it just me or is this just wrong? Wrong it having been done, wrong in the doing and wrong in the reporting, must we wade through other people’s personal transgressions?

Then on the lighter side of the news, you get to hear about all the celebrities and all the silliness that seems to bubble up around them. There is the rumor that Brad and Angelina are having issues, mainly she wants it all EXCEPT marriage. Then there is Tom and his new wife and mother of his first biological child, they seem to be having issues too. Let us not forget the late Anna and all the drama surrounding her, her life, her death, her children their lives, and deaths and possible futures. The list of silliness is just too extensive for me to list, but the media seems to feel it is all news worthy. I shudder every time I see an actor or actress’ name just because I know it is going to be news that is not ‘news’ worthy for all that they happily slap it out there for us to read. It is really rather disturbing.

Of course, a method I have been using to avoid some of the silliness, just some of it mind you is I have taken to only reading the comics. Yes, they have some political things happening in them, but for the most part they are detached from the real world, making them a safe bet of containing nothing that would be considered ‘news’ worthy in the current definition of the idea (based on what the media is printing as news worthy mind you.)

Now, do not get me wrong, yes, we need to know something, but others we do not need to know it will serve us no purpose in life, at work or at home. All it does is provide us with the image that the world (the United States for the most part) is falling part and has lost its moral bearings. IT is not a pleasant picture, even if it MIGHT be true, even if it is not wholly true it is still disturbing.

Just some thoughts from the shadows.

Silence who is Wolf.
