Whomever requested skirting with 90 and high humidity on the 2nd of May for the Ohio Valley needs a kick in the pants.

We don't need July weather in May.

While I was out hiking today, I became reacquainted with the white stuff that's supposed to fall from the sky over the Winter months.

Unfortunately, there was not enough snow for any accumulation, but at least we actually had some in the skies.

I just got off the phone with tracy_d74 , and Norman OK just got pummeled by some straight line winds.  There was golf ball sized hail in gobs, to the point where she said that it looked on the ground like it had been snowing.  Trees uprooted, power lines down, you name it.

Apparently about half of Norman is without power --including Tracy's apartment-- so ( Read more... )

I've watched the news on the tornadoes ripping through the South today, and I haven't seen anything like it since the Day of the Tornadoes on April 3-4, 1974.  The tornado that hit Tuscaloosa looked remarkably like the one that leveled the city of Xenia, OH on that day ( Read more... )

Yes, we survived the night of t-storms and the occasional tornado.  Good thing I'm a night owl, because I don't think I got to a good sleep until after 2 AM.  Quite a few people on this part of town were without power, but ours never flickered for a change.
