However, we are prepped for the storm. Batteries, candles, water, flashlights, everything charged up. All schools in Philadelphia are closed today and tomorrow. My office is closed for today. There seems to be no public transportation between Washington DC and Boston. Amtrack is down and all of the airports are closed.
Being sixty two miles inland has its advantage. It looks like the Jersey shore will be hit at high tide tonight. At least a ten foot storm surge. There doesn't seem to be anyway for the people at the Jersey shore to get out as the streets are already flooding. I spent the weekend moving items in the basement up off the floor-the basement didn't flood during Hurricane Irene but why take chances.
The winds are up, and the house is clammy and raw. I had to turn on the heat-and it's not even November!
Be safe friends!
