I was riding in a hybrid as a passenger the other day and honestly I had a lot of fun. I basically sat there trying to figure out how the whole system worked internally for the majority of the ride (I think I got the gist of it). I was even kinda liking the whole fake supercharger whine the measly V-4 and electric motor combination created...then we got back in our Toyota Sequoia. In layman's terms (ok, not really) a 270-some-odd hp and 330-something lb/ft V-8 is a truly beautiful thing. A guttural, yet sonorous rumble issuing from the throat of the beast. Wouldn't that be awesome to have in a car that didn't weigh 5500 pounds? Until I get a touch more money, I'll have to live with the hulking monster of a car, but I think in the end I'll never grow out of it.
PS: I took a bit of poetic license there as the car is NOT a hulking monster (well, excluding sheer size). For a car that huge, it rides like a dream. Dad's flower shop vans...that's a whole nother story.
