Painting Billboards with John Cusack (Lucid Dream)

Jan 02, 2010 05:15

This lucid dream was towards the beginning of the night, instead of the morning, so I don't remember pieces of it. I am doing a reality check, like I have been doing during waking reality, and the reality check failed. I say "I'm dreaming!", a couple of times, out loud. I find myself standing outside a house somewhere in Michigan or Minnesota- some USA state that starts with an "M". I say "Lucidity Up" a few times, in order to bring more details of the dream into focus. John Cusack is there, he is a common dreamsign/character for me. He's made himself look younger, about 35, and he is dressed in an Indie Goth look, with blue kerchief/babushka/rag on his head. His jacket has buttons all over it, like a 90's London punk. I change my clothes by thinking about it to look similar to his.
He has all these people hanging out with him. I guess they are staff and body guards. He just ignores them, like they aren't there. I do too. I tell Johnny that he is dreaming. This is something that I haven't done in any of my dreams before: experiment with telling other dream characters that I am dreaming, they are dreaming, are we dreaming, etc. He is intrigued, his brown eyes get quizzical and kind of sparkle with a playful oneriness; and he says "Yeah, so, I'm dreaming. So are you." I ask him a favor, to tell me that I'm dreaming the next time he sees me so that I will become lucid. He says sure. He seems to be very amused. I ask him if he has ever tried flying. He doesn't seem to know what I'm talking about. So I tell him I will show him. I try to carry him and fly with him, but he's to heavy. I remember to tell myself "I'm dreaming". I cancel the law of gravity and I am then able to easily pick him up. I put him on my back, like I am giving him a piggy back ride, and I launch into the air like Superman. We fly over Minnesota/Michigan fields. They are covered with snow. It's very beautiful. I feel like I did when I was a preteen, and my bicycle was my freedom. It was like he is one of my close friends, riding on the handlebars of my bike around the neighborhood. We enjoy the freedom, the peace in mutual acceptance and a shared silence.
Then we decide to paint billboards all over the dreamscape that say "You are dreaming" or "Are you dreaming?" like in that movie "They Live". We are standing at the bottom of one of these billboards, on the billboard balcony, throwing black paint and billboard glue at each other and laughing when this dreams fades.
