"I was hopping along, minding my own business..."
:: You know the feeling when everything is calm in your life and then 'BAM!', something happens and changes everything? Yeah, well that's what happened on Monday. My mum fell and broke her leg. Well, foot rather than leg. She was walking along minding her own business when she slipped and fell. She fractured the side of her left foot and battered her right knee pretty badly. She's doing ok, but I'm the one who has to take care of her. I don't mind doing stuff for her mind you, but taking care of her is a whole other story simply because she's so damn uncooperative. I tell her to sit down and not move, she decides to walk back and forth in the house because she's bored. I tell her to use the crutches she has, she dismisses me by saying that they make her feel like her mother. Oh, brother! Just before I took the dogs out earlier, she briskly entered my room and informed me she was going to a friend's house for coffee! Before I had a chance to grab a straight-jacket and a sedative, she was out the door! I am positive she's going to be whining tomorrow about being in pain and wondering why...
:: Last week of TV shows before they go on summer hiatus... The Comedy Central boys are already away and won't be coming back for another two weeks *gasp*! But *stammers* what are we supposed to watch now?! When shows are on hiatus I always rely on the boys to keep me entertained, but now we're deprived of them as well! At least we have the episodes where Stephen goes to the Johnson Space Centre for training to look forward to! Oh, you didn't know?! Stephen is going through space training! I love it when he offers us superb episodes after hiatuses! Last year it was Iraq and now this!
:: I finally bought Brent Spiner's "Dreamland" cd! I know I'm a couple of years late, but better late than never! I was studying in the UK when it was released and had other priorities at the time... I absolutely LOVE it! It's mesmerizing! Brent's voice compliments Maude Maggart's perfectly and create something truly unique and otherworldly. It's one of those cd where you just want to stay at home, dim the lights, grab a bottle of wine and relax listening to!
:: Reading David Sedaris' "Naked" at the moment. His books put me in a really good mood, but also annoy me simply because they're so addictive! I can never seem to be able to put them down! I hope he writes a new one soon, because I've almost read all of them! I really lol'd at the chapter about his grandmother! So utterly Greek!
:: Currently I'm watching Season 4 of ST TNG. I still have a long way to go, but why rush something you're enjoying? I watched the 'Brothers' episode yesterday and loved it! Lore's psycho smile is made of win! But why won't poor Data ever understand that he can't trust his brother?? The cutie-pie is so gullible! My advice to Data is this:
