7 Last time: Tabby Sweet turned her brand new daycare into an orphanage, taking in two children, two toddlers, and two babies. Then she basically never had time to eat or sleep again, and
everything was filthy. But no one died, and little Rebecca Benes even
got adopted--so, we're calling it a success!
It's the start of another day with the children, and Tabitha takes a moment to steel herself in the downstairs bathroom. It's a rare moment of peace and solitude, broken tub notwithstanding.
Deep breaths, Tabby! You're down one whole child! You can do this!
Mario loves lasagna for breakfast.
Valterri and Sorin don't love potty time for breakfast. (I was using a random name generator for the orphans. The results have been colorful.)
Tabitha suddenly thinks to herself, "Sayyyy, Sine, you're looking a little mature this morning..."
And praise be...
... there is suddenly one less toddler in the house. Welcome to childhood, Sine!
The birthday girl has some playtime in the yard and then steals away for a nap in Tabitha's bed. So adorable, and so unfair. Tabitha would give anything to be in that spot.
Hang in there, Tabs!
Valterri is skillin.'
Meanwhile, Nanette and Sorin have a falling out. Toddler beefs, y'all.
That night, a weary Tabitha consoles herself with the fact that Valterri is about to age up, so she'll be back to just two toddlers in the house. She might even have time to shower.
Wait...
What...
Ho don't do it
Much to Tabitha's (and my!) suprise, it appears that some time ago, I had decided when a child gets adopted, that means there's a free spot in the orphanage. :/
It takes a moment for this new reality to sink in.
Ladies and gents, meet Zanna, who is rocking a strong brow.
Tabitha: *shrug* "All right, I guess."
Mayor Frida comes inside to congratulate Tabitha after finishing up the official paperwork at city hall.
Tabby: "Moar babby?"
Frida: "Better you than me... Godspeed, you poor fool."
Tabitha: "Thank god you're potty trained." ++ friends
Speaking of,
Valterri grows up! Yayyy! He's a serious looking child.
V: "Frijoles are serious business."
So they are, Valterri. So they are.
The rest of the day is a blur of bottles and potties, and before you know it, bedtime is back.
It's not easy work, looking after all these children; but it's important work.
Sleep well, Tabby. 'Til we meet again.
