RJ Gooboy!

Narcisse got to have a fun session yesterday.  She was playing with someone who really liked heavy corporal but had a lot of health issues that precluded him from being hit in certain spots, so she talked with him about where those spots were, then got an eyeliner pencil out of the makeup vanity and marked off all the areas where she wasn't going to be able to hit.  I went out into the dungeon when she called me out to see the marks left by our favorite new toy (www.nativeamericanexotics.com) - a slapper thingy made out of an antler slice - and when I saw the marks she'd left with the eyeliner pencil, I laughed and laughed.   I could tell she was having fun, too, because she was glowing and all smiles.   People that let us hit them hard and long are always appreciated.

I stopped by the Crypt after the dungeon.  Dropped off some flyers, dropped off some cards, checked out all the new stuff in stock (they've got a whole bunch of clothes on sale there, like 75% off on some stuff), and ran into someone who's been at the dungeon for a few parties who was shopping for a new outfit.   I stopped in at the used bookstore next door after that and picked up a couple of Orson Scott Cards and then went to an American approximation of an Irish pub next on the block.

I got some Leprechaun Lollipops (prosciutto-wrapped cheddar - just like they do in Ireland! - on top of a bread stick, run under a broiler) and a salad and some soup.  A middle-aged Black Lab was with his man a few tables away and was off his leash, but staying on the sidewalk and not wandering away from the tables.  He came over near me and I gave him a crouton.  I hate croutons and he loved them, so he got all my croutons.  His man let him hang out for a bit, then called him back, but his man was pretty preoccupied with the tattooed girl at the table next to his, so RJ hedged his bets and came back for more whenever Dad wasn't paying close attention.  I unloaded my croutons, the cheese on my salad and a few chunks of tomatoes.  I wanted to see if he'd eat them and he did.
When I'd run out of something, I'd tell RJ "All gone" and he'd go straight back to his Dad.   He'd sit over there with Dad and wait for me to make eye contact.  Hey look, I found another pocket of shredded cheese!  And he'd amble back over and let me give him shreds of cheese til I said "All gone" again.

It was nice meeting another smart, highly socialized dog like that and sharing my lunch with him.  He was like a calm 10yo human kid stuck in a dog body, happy to hang out and interact with strangers and friends (he recognized one walking by on the sidewalk and greeted him joyously) and wasn't all invasive or drooly about it.

I like places that let dogs hang out on the patio.
