Horse vs. Human...Human will always lose. Ransom spooked today while I was standing right next to him (he thought Devon was coming after him) and he just plowed into me and then over me. I had two collisions, one when Ransom hit me and one when I hit the ground. OMG...it's like being hit by a car, or 10 linebackers rolled into one. My 150 lbs. against his 1100 lbs. Ugh. The good news is, when I hit the ground, he jumped over me and didn't step on me.
Devon and Angelina came over to see what was wrong with me, since I was just lying still on the ground. They were so sweet. I got knocked flat and hit my entire back and my head. I'm only feeling pain in my lower back at my pelvis and upper back and of course the back of my head. Of course I have a nice lump on the back of my head, but hey...it could have been worse. I'm still in one (albeit very sore and soon to be bruised) piece. Yes, I'm going just to hear what I already know...I have a concussion, whiplash and contusions. I'll get some mild pain killers and muscle relaxers probably to take at night. By tomorrow, I doubt that he'll order a CT unless I have abnormal symptoms overnight. Yeah, I really needed this...but I'm still plugging away. The Energizer Bunny doesn't have anything on me...LMAO!
I have an appointment tomorrow morning with my doctor to get checked out. I'm pretty sure I will barely be able to move in the morning.
Update on Tony: He's still going to be in the hospital for a few more days, until his blood has been thinned to a certain level and his Coumadin levels are where the doctor wants them. He's bored to tears and his leg still hurts really badly.
Update on Devon: The edema on his belly is slowly going down, but yesterday, he broke out in tiny hives again and today his front legs are swollen up from edema. My poor horse! He's off of his antibiotic now and has started on his iron supplements. The Vet will come by tomorrow to check on him. I am to exercise him and ride him as part of his treatment. He doesn't appear to be lame when moving, but I can tell the leg he was bitten on hurts him or aches by the way he holds the leg up once in a while.
