My life has been crazy this past week and I only had time to watch one movie. So I'm just going to write about it here.
Casanova 2005 - Lasse Hallstrom's witty romantic comedy stars Heath Ledger as Jacamo Casanova, the infamous and dashing player of 18th century Venice who holds the key to every woman's heart -- all but one, that is. Francesca (Sienna Miller) detests the lothario's conquering approach to matters of love and rallies against him in her writing ... which only makes her more alluring. But to win her over, Casanova must first decide what kind of man he truly is.
It was a cute romantic comedy, it was very pretty. I rushed to watch it because I really didn't have time but I didn't want the movies to sit around forever.
On Monday I mowed half of the lawn because I got tired of waiting for Curtis to do it. Then the lawn just looks dumb until he finally mowed the other half, which is the more annoying half if you ask me because you have to plug the lawn mower in through a window.
On Tuesday I drove to my internship like I do most days. I figured I'd get the driving picture out of the way, plus I didn't have anything interesting to plan. I actually really like this picture.
On Wednesday I tried to get some work done on a paper that was due on Friday. I had an outline done by 3am on Thursday and then I worked on it slowly throughout Thursday basically taking my outline and making it into complete sentences.
On Thursday, I attended a forum at a local high school about prescription drug abuse. I had to go to a 3-hour conference or workshop as a requirement. So I went to two that were 1.5 hours long. That requirement was due yesterday. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. We had to walk through the bus lot to get to the auditorium and it's been a long time since I've hung out with buses.
On Friday, I went for some retail therapy after a stressing week. I decided to try on something ugly at Ross but the picture actually makes it not look so bad. It was like wearing a tent. I got a pair of capris, a black shirt, and a little black dress. Ooh, and I have a new car stereo now but I haven't gotten it installed yet, maybe Friday. Now I love me some Kohl's, but I do not understand the size discrepancies there. If I get any smaller (at this point, I'm just trying to get toned, not necessarily smaller), I won't be able to wear anything in the ladies department. The black shirt I bought was an extra-small and it hung on me! And I am not that small! I've always had that problem with shirts in the ladies department, they are huge. But then you go over to the juniors and they are tiny. I need something in the middle, and I have yet to find anything I even want to try on in their petite department.
On Saturday, we went to Carowinds for free by way of the Campus Activities Board at UNCG. It was a pretty enjoyable park but it seemed very small, maybe it's just compact. There are not very many kiddie rides at all, maybe there are four rides that are marked a one on their thrill scale (it goes up to five). We got on a few roller coasters (one of them twice because it's a flying coaster and that's my favorite style!!), the scrambler, another spinning upside down carnival type ride, the haunted scooby-doo house, and the river rapids and that was pretty much it. We went on the "Reptar" roller coaster in the kid's section, heehee (and it's actually rated a 4 on the thril scale).
On Sunday we went to see Gavin DeGraw perform in Charlotte. Now, when Gavin first gave out I saw him like four times in a little more than a year (in three different states). So I was going into some Gavin withdrawal (it had almost been five years since I saw him last). So he was awesome of course and I can't wait to see him again!!! This is me and Sara, one of my grad school mates.
